Even the most persistent heel (mis) user have had to lay down their guard at this point, flats have come to stay in whatever shapes and forms. Personally I converted to the flat side post-pregnancy while pushing the baby buggy uncountable miles to get back into shape, and in my everyday juggling daily life climbing up and down stairs it made most sense to stick to it. Having that said a girl needs them gorgeous heels too of course, but you won’t see me grocery shopping in mine for now.
With Alessandra Facchinetti onboard, Tod’s has taken a step up both on ready-to-wear and on the accessory side. The footwear for instance, still classy with a little more edge, or umph you may call it, and we like that don’t we? City sleek, lust worthy buckled and fringed sandals are amongst my favourites, and you’ll find them on Tod’s.com this spring or can be pre-ordered here now, yum!
If the knee or mid lengths didn’t fully bloom earlier this winter I do believe they will succeed this coming spring, and the more asymmetric, pleated, fringed and unfinished endings the better. These are details that I personally like myself, and I will for sure incorporate a few additions to my wardrobe come spring, paired with relaxed pieces, first thing in, this skirt by Isabel Marant Etoile, let the new lengths begin for real!
As a contrast to my “Manish”-post the other day I felt like letting my girly side come out and play, at least to some extend. Cute little dresses worn with knitted cards or coats were the key looks strutting down Saint Laurent’s A/W runway and it’s one of the few show-looks that are perfect for “real life”, and those parties coming up this seasons.
Already one week in of December, November, fall, what happened? Christmas is just around the corner, and a like many of you my list stretches to the moon of things that should be done, well, same procedure as every year I guess. We’ll all get there in the end don’t we, one way or another!
So with that dark cloud of things that I should do hanging over me, I haven’t really put much thought into outfits, and simply relied on basic and comfy all-rounders, but when I think of it that’s what I always do, hehe.
Happy Saturday Everyone!
No matter what’s going on out there I always come back to the classics, so here we go again. Sporting these cropped suit trousers a lot lately, they are real all rounders that I either wear with the matching blazer or pretty much everything else in my wardrobe.
With memories of days in the City in the back of my head I personally always avoid very tailored pieces like this with a white shirt, while I see others manage to make it look everything but office’y, but I’m up for the challenge.
Happy Sunny Sunday you lovely ones!
Dungarees and Air Max? Nope, I’m not preggy again (!!!), neither on my way to the gym, certainly not fit for the cocktail party, but suits me perfect when on the run. My little girl will hopefully (or perhaps not!) be walking in not too long and I’ll probably be very glad I’ve stocked up with comfy, runnable footwear when those days come along.
From a sartorial point of view I like the freshness, or confusion is more like it, a pair of sneakers adds to most outfits, especially when they come in happy colours like these or cool prints.
Shades of greys are dominating my wardrobe right now, something I never intentionally planned, but a fact (!) after a recent wardrobe cleanup. Unlike most other colours grey shades can be layered so well together without putting much thought into it, and that carefreeness fits perfectly with how I usually get dressed.
Wool trousers from Cos bought several seasons ago (similar styles here and here), wool sweater by Stella McCartney, coat by Ganni (also here and here), shoes by Chanel, Sella bag by Tod’s and Tag Heuer watch.
I’ve always had a soft spot for pinstripes and thanks to Stella McCartney and Vanessa Bruno there are plenty of pinstripes to chose from in stores this season, by the respective designers and on the high street. Though I personally never go for the copied-designer-pieces myself, I’m open to “inspired” trend pieces of good quality. These wool trousers by Mango for instance, are personal budget favourites of mine right now, and I think I might wear them to pieces (hope not!) this winter.
If you’ve stopped by this blog before, then you probably know there’s no “sartorial extremism” ongoing on this space, and his week I’ve been pretty much back to the basics, jeans, shirt and blazer, perfect when on the run and dressy enough for meetings. The ballerinas, whom I for many years shied away from(!), have now become indispensable in my daily with work and a baby in my arms. I actually never leave the house these days without a pair either on my feet on in my bag. Speaking of bag, I’m officially in a relationship with this Tod’s shopper, the best perfect sized every-day-bag that ever happened to me, and I love the sharp, yet feminine shape of it.
Fashion month is over and one of the highlights on my side was Tod’s first ever ready-to-wear-collection which include fantastic pieces that are certainly ready-to-be worn. Add laser cut pieces, in leather that looks like cotton and vice verse, cropped pants suits and shirt dresses, footwear with chunky golden buckles and long fringes, signed Alessandra Facchinetti for Tod’s, on your wish list come spring. The bags are still there but to me the clothes and shoes popped and looked even better up close than at the show. My favourite looks were the white off-shoulder dress and cropped-top-lacer cut-skirt, so in love!

Ok, here’s me pretending to be very busy on my phone, if you’ve ever been around any of the fashion weeks lately you would know what I mean.
Anyway, as the jeans girl I am, fashion month or not, I’m most likely spotted wearing denims, so I’m constantly looking for “the perfect” fits and washes. To me it’s important that “skinny jeans” feel like skinny jeans on and not leggings(!), and finding the perfect washed-out-black colour is for sure not an easy task. However these by R13 tick all the boxes, so why I’ve not checked out this brand earlier is a mystery. These are certainly coming along with me to Paris tomorrow, see you all there for fashion week. Bisous!
No rocket science going on here, just a simply everyday outfit of mine, jeans by R13 (here and here), teddy knit by Isabel Marant (here and here), shoes by Chanel, bag by Tod’s, lace-iphone-cover by Marc by Marc Jacobs, and sunnies by Tom Ford.
It’s hard to keep track, but Milan Fashion Week kicked off yesterday with a sporty’ish hot show by Gucci and today’s Prada at 6 pm CET. Tomorrow however, I’ll be jumping on a flight to Milan myself not to miss out on one of the most anticipated shows this week, Tod’s first ever runway show! The new creative director, Alessandra Facchinetti, will present a complete RTW collection tomorrow at the beautiful venue Padiglione D’Arte Contemporanea, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming!
2013, the year of ruffles and flares, and I’m strongly considering getting a pair of dark or black flared legged denims this fall. Well, those ambitions will have to be put on hold for a while as I’m about to leave my heels behind and jump on a flight to a humid place in Asia. My second vacation with my supergirl here we come!!!
Wishing you all a fabulous week, and remember you’ll always find more frequent updates on instagram while I’m away, bisous!
