If you have missed out on this spring’s fastest shoes, most glittery bijoux, and some of the coolest prints that I guess anyone with a right mind would want to add to their wardrobes (if they could), then here it is, Prada’s spring/summer 2012 campaign video, which takes place on a gas station (highly suitable!). Vroom Vroom, enjoy!
Here’s a little preview of the KARL collection and to my positive surprise the collection had overall a sporty-edgy-glam feel to it. Jackets with zipper details, shorts, knee length skirts, tops, dresses, in fabrics from cotton, silk, sport mesh, polyester, sequins and leather (both real and faux). The accessories included gloves, bags, shoes and collars, sadly no sunnies for now, but hopefully they’ll come. Officially on my wish list: The pleated faux leather skirt, leather biker vest, droopy waisted sequined dress and all sandals!
If you love Alexander Wang, I think you’re gonna like this, and the good news is that it comes with more reasonable price tags, which start from £20, but most pieces range between £100-£300 (with a few exceptions from the leather bikers).
The launch on Wednesday, will take place on joint global events in Paris, New York, London, Berlin and Sydney. If you happen to be in London, then head over to Unit 3 at Covent Garden Market at 3.30pm, where goody bags will be handed to the first fifty visitors. Maybe I’ll see you there?
You’ve probably seen the beautiful Chanel spring campaign by now, where Joan Smalls and Saskia de Brauw perform gymnastics hanging above the sea, seen through the lens of Lagerfeld himself. Here’s a behind-the-scene-video from the shot that took place in Cap d’Antibes, and if you’re not already longing for summer by the sea, this might get you started….
Happy Friday noon!
Here are some really nice stuff at H&M this spring, the jacket and metallic pants are clear favorites of mine and will be in store in February with reasonable price tags like £49.99 and £34.99.
Oki, I’m on the run out to catch a little daylight but I’ll do an outfit post later on, happy Sunday!
Ok, I’m not a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana‘s vegetable printed spring collection, those chilis, onions and tomatoes have still not convinced me, but I do have to admit I love the spring campaign!!! It’s real, warm and sunny and brings you on a journey to the Italian coast in pure Italian style fronted by Monica Bellucci and Bianca Balti, photographed by Giampaolo Sgura.
Happy Saturday everyone!
No, this is not a follow up on Isabel Marant’s Etoile lookbook for spring but for highstreet Mango fronted by the same girl Anna Selezneva. If you’re on a tighter budget and fancy the casual-city-chic-Parisian-wibe of Marant, Mango looks like the place to stop by, acid washed + pastells = spring, I feel tempted to check out that white jumper and iron belt myself.
A first sneak peak of Balenciaga’s Spring 2012 campaign featuring Lara Kampman photographed by Steven Meisel in one of my favorite looks from this collection, that print is fantastic and includes pretty much all the colors I’d like to wear for spring. Balenciaga ads always have something interesting to them and stick out in the sea of ads, don’t you think?
Instead of complaining about my longing for sunshine and beach I’ve decided to do something about it, a long weekend on the Canary Islands will hopefully recharge my D-vitamin-batteries before a very busy end of December, January and February, leaving on Thursday morning, yeah!
While I was in Paris back in June I stopped by Phillip Lim‘s menswear presentation for Spring 2012 and as I know some of you dear readers are guys here’s some for you. In sync with Lim’s collections for women this spring and summer, there are quite many sport references going on, in this case a clear inspiration from skating environments and cool young men. I wouldn’t mind one of these acid-washed denim pieces myself, enjoy!
See the whole collection here.
In line with what we’ve seen on many of the major shows, Spring 2012 at H&M includes minimal, sport-chic, all white looks and lime green, but if you’re into prints and colors, don’t despair, there’s a dose of that too. Btw, this is the leather set some of you were wondering about so I guess it won’t be in store before January/February.
Oh, aren’t we all longing for spring already, like my mum said the other day, it’s coming soon, we just need to have a little winter first!
Meanwhile we’ve all got plenty of time to absorb impressions from last fashion week and trends that might dominate in the time ahead. To be honest I’m not really comfortable with the word “trend” myself, but I like to see every season as a way to evolve and adopt new elements. Like the midriff, nothing really new, sported it myself this summer, but I love many of the designers interpretations of bare skin in their spring collections, so fresh, cool, class and feminine.
I don’t like being the happy smiling object in front of a camera myself but I love catching moments like this, Chiharu Okunugi‘s genuine smile can be described in one word, radiant! I snapped her straight off the Hermes 2012 Spring show in Paris and I love her sharp fringe and cut.
Hope you’re smiling yourself and Happy Friday!
If it hasn’t caught your eye yet here’s a sneak peak to what could be the jewelry-line that many fashionistas are gonna go crazy about in a month time. Prada has released their campaign images and a video, shot by Steven Meisel for their Resort 2012 collection and as you may know already many of these pieces were also seen on the Spring 2012 show, which means, you have the chance to lay your hands on spring goodies already in November, if you feel the urge….
