Happy Tuesday everyone!
Sorry for no post updates during my stay in Paris but there simply wasn’t enough time, if only days were longer. Now, I’m back in London and better roll up those sleeves with post-Paris-work, coming back soon!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I’ve ran into Maria Kolosova, editor at Harper’s Bazaar Russia, many times lately and except for being incredible cute she always looks so well put together, with effort yes, but without trying too hard, just the way I like it! Like the other day at Chanel, where she looked absolutely stunning in this dream of a sequin jumper from Sportmax A/W-12.
If you like me, expect nothing less than an solid injection of inspiration everytime Phoebe Philo serves a new collection for Celine, then you won’t be disappointed this time around either. Though I have to admit not every look are my cup of tea, there are certainly those who are. I especially like the play of contrasting structures and the unfinished feel that many of the pieces have, which make it less perfect, cooler and so effortless elegant.
Favourite piece: The black mesh dress with pockets (Olalla, I’m in love!).
See the whole collection here.
My favourite looks from Balenciaga’s SS13 collection, that I wouldn’t try to resist, and totally fell for the tailored sharp structures, yet very nude collection with a lot of focus on the waistline. An area that I intend to sport come spring 2013, and just another motivation why getting back into shape post baby is super high on my priority list! See the whole collection here.
And oh, 1pm (CET) today it’s Celine time, stay tuned!
Woop woop, I’m running way late with posts here, like always during fashion weeks I’m afraid. Here are just a few snap shots from yesterday with a little Dior buzz, will post more later, have a fabulous Saturday!
I’ll try to be more active on Instagram during the day where you can follow me on @hedvigso
Grunge references and tartan continues to be part of next spring’s scene, latest seen on Dries Van Noten’s runway yesterday, where he mixed tartan prints with unexpected floral patterns and floral organza, and it worked so perfectly well. This collection is a stunner which you can check out here, but shy away if you’re an anti-print-minimalist.
I’m heading over to Paris in one hour and wouldn’t mind packing any of these looks with me……. See you in Paris!
Hello from couture week in a summery Paris, which so far has been quite hectic and with very little online connection. Now finally online, who’s more fitted to kick off my images from here than always over the top, one of a kind, entrepreneur and business woman, Michelle Harper, on her way to the Chanel couture show. I just love this playful mix of structures, shapes and floating fabrics worn with a blue satchel, topped with a hairdo not many of us could get away with, and Michelle’s signature red lips.
Right now I feel like wearing light fabric blouses and put my jumpers aside for a moment, well, I guess it would depend on the weather right. Anyway, I like the pairing of oversized jeans, belt and a sheer blouse by Swedish model Elsa Sylvan, so chilled and relaxed, perfect for hot days. Btw, I’ve always liked the intensity in Elsa’s eyes, her look is already strong but her bleached eyebrows make her blue eyes pop even more.
Happy weekend folks!
Latest news on H&M collabs, fabulous Anna Dello Russo is to design an accessories collection for the Swedish retailer that will be available in stores on October 4th. It will include jewelry, sunglasses, shoes and bags, and my guess not for a wallflower, expect bold, colorful, over the top, extravaganza, well I’m sure you got it!
Just heard on the news today is the wettest day in London this year, gray, rain and cold, not my favorite combination, but they usually go hand in hand, and sadly my inspiration for getting dressed goes along with it. This pair of lovely ladies though, casting agent Natalie Joos and Tatler director Anya Ziourova, didn’t go gray and dull and seemed unaffected by the chilly rain at Paris Fashion Week back in early March, both wearing strong coordinated pieces by London based designers behind Ostwald Helgason and J.W.Anderson.
Karlie Kloss would probably look stunning in whatever she puts on, but with a classic like double denim + leather jacket, and a large Chanel flap bag on your shoulder, no one can do a thing wrong, a timeless casual chic classic that is lifted by the perfect shade of red lips. I usually forget the detailed red lips myself and always remember later in the day what I forgot to give it all a boost, something I’ll try to remember……
There’s a big chance street style photographers might struggle to capture vibrant colors during next fashion month in September, cause black, white and gray looks are coming back strongly. However I don’t mind at all, especially when it comes in sharply tailored packages or slouchy silhouettes like this, which happen to be my favorite collection by Maison Martin Margiela for quite a while now. It might look less avant-garde and perhaps more commercial, but it still has the Margiela odd details and cleanness which is right up my street. I love the oversized detailed turtle necked coats, and the perfect creamy yellow jumper already has my name on it!
Touring the fashion week month requires loads of luggage, especially during the winter months unless you’re fine wearing the same coat every day. Being way too optimistic about the Paris weather I left warm coats and furs at home in order to travel light, which I pretty soon regretted. On this day however I survived saved by layers of jumpers and wool but next time I’ll bring my warm coats along for sure, no matter how many suitcases I need to drag along.
J Brand jeans, knit by Acne and YSL, shoes Isabel Marant and bag Chanel.
Ok, I could never call myself a fun dresser as I personally find the strict and clean style esthetique more appealing, but it doesn’t mean I don’t admire people who dare to play around with expressions and colors and rocks it, just like Miroslava Duma did on the day of Chloe in Paris wearing Chloe fall 2011 paired with a necklace by Venessa Arizaga, shoes by Fendi and a huge beanie as a cherry on top.
