Jil Sander left her eponymous label for the 3’rd time back in October for what is said to be personal reasons. After replacing Raf Simons 8 years long success at the helmet of the brand in 2012, Jil Sander’s return turned into a very short-lived affair. Appointed new creative director of the brand now is Italian designer Rodolfo Paglialunga, who formerly worked at Prada and Vionnet, will be showcasing his first collection for Jil Sander in September 2014.
Mondays are usually not the most efficient day of the week on my side, my inspo is usually close to zero and my brain never really wakes up before the day’s almost over. Hence, I wouldn’t mind gliding around in this comfortable outfit today, this gorgeous soft silk set is from Whistles (£235), leopard shoulder bag by Jerome Dreyfuss, “Faith”-necklace by Jil Sander and patent slippers by Repetto.
One of my finds during the sales was this skirt by Balenciaga, I totally fell for the shiny fabric and shape which kind of has a life of it’s own. Keeping the short length in mind I decided to wear it with flats to tone it down a little earlier this week, but this skirt has a million styling opportunities so it won’t be the last time you’ll see it here for sure.
Wishing you all a happy midsummer-weekend whatever you are up to!
Here are some of my favorite bags and details spotted during fashion weeks, some last season, some classics and some new, not very surprisingly I seem to be drawn to Celine’s and Givenchy’s, but who could blame me. Except that I’m very into white bags these days the Obsedia bag by Givenchy has been hunting me for a long time, and I’m tempted to strike…..
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Say goodbye to Raf Simons for Jil Sander, oh, what an incredible beautiful way to end the 7 year marriage, enjoy!
The most buzzed about shoes-to-fill of 2011 in the fashion industry has to be who’s gonna take the lead as creative director at Dior after Galliano’s sudden break-up. After 9 months of speculations latest rumor has it that Marc Jacobs, Tisci and others are out of the running and that Raf Simons is in discussions for the job.
If this turn out to be true I think it’s a little odd match, clean and minimalist Raf Simons at extravagant Dior? Personally I hope he stays in his seat at Jil Sander’s and continue to deliver his beautiful minimalist collections with a touch of couture.
That prints and patterns are some designers vision of spring 2012 is quite clear by now and according to some the more mismatch the better. Not very surprisingly the prints continued on Missoni’s, Pucci’s and Marni’s runway in Milan this weekend, but Dolce & Gabbana topped them all continuing where Stella McCartney and Prada left the fruit disk last season and introduced vegetables. How would you feel about a chili printed dress, or how about onions, tomatos and cucumber? I don’t doubt these prints will be a hit among some but for me a big no, see the whole collection here.
Call me boring or perhaps I’m lacking humor but my personal favorite this weekend from Milan is Jil Sander’s SS12 collection where Raf Simons have let paisley, gingham patterns and all-white-shirts-looks replace last seasons successful stripes and color blocking. Perhaps not the most exiting collection by Simons but it’s a clean, fresh and minimal way to include patterns and prints, were the long, narrow silhouettes and graphic printed jumpers continues where his A/W 11 collection ends, see the whole collection here.

Jil Sander’s fall campaign is out photographed by Willy Vanderperre under Raf Simons control and vision. Though it’s a bit dark I like it, it’s quirky and plays with geometry, a subject which is close to my heart and I much rather prefer odd ads like this than many of the super glossy campaigns with themes you have a feeling you’ve seen before.
Sorry but I didn’t have time time to post much earlier today as I was running late out. Just got in after a long, great brunch followed by the movie Fair Game. A really good one about the injustice that has been done but luckily the fighting spirit caught up at the end and I calmed down a little which is good cause now I’ve got some work to catch up on.
Images taken yesterday, I wore a new Celine bag, coat Oasis, pants Isabel Marant, t-shirt Jil Sander and courts Cos.
The make-up and hair seen recently on many of the shows is right up my street, sleek back hair with side parting or looser top with middle parting, combined with a clean make-up with focus on eyebrows or lips, perfect!

Raf Simons presented his fall collection for Jil Sander in Milan today and not very surprisingly I like it even though I was much more excited about their spring collection. Many black looks and darker colors, clean cut as usual and the knitwear and patterns give me alpine vibes. Some of the looks reminds me of the outfits Tilda Swinton wears in the beautiful movie I Am Love. Notice the blue/green eyeshadow, nice!

What happened, after on week of shit weather, cold and rain during fashion week which spoiled everything called spring outfits (unless you didn’t mind getting ill) today was the warmest and best day so far this year, I’m sure someone’s playing a trick on us.
Blazer Acne, jeans Cheap Monday, t-shirt Jil Sander, scarf Cos, booties Zara, sunnies Prada and Mulberry
Today I dressed for rain, eeh, except for my mocca pumps, I left the annoying umbrella at home and my camera was fashionable safe and dry in my plastic bag. I wore a new clear blue waterproof jacket with a hoodie and golden buttons from Cos and I love it. I didn’t get a whole body shot today but this will for sure be my uniform on rainy days to come.
I just came home from my last menswear show and for me LFW is finally over, I’ve actually longed for “normal” days, they are so welcomed now.
