Obligatory for any wardrobe is a black biker and though I’ve already got a few myself I still haven’t come across the perfect one. The right one for me would be a looser and longer model with some thickness and weight to it, that still can be worn all year long. Sadly, finding the one is almost as hard as coming across the perfect fitted jeans.
Though many of us are tired of the sales out there and want new season’s stuff, smart buys can still be done. I’ve been keeping my eyes on this wool jacket by Acne and when the price dropped I decided to strike, an great alternative to heavier winter coats and I love the oversized boxy shape and shorter length, feels so right this season.
A last minute decision before I headed out for dinner yesterday evening, I digged my red jacket from H&M’s Garden collection out of my closet, it’s been hanging there with the price tag on for 6 months. Reason? There was too much hype around it when the range was launched and I felt slightly put off. Yesterday it felt right though and oh I felt so Joan Collins but I loved it.
I wore it with silk pants and court heels from Cos, t-shirt Acne, bag Wang and Brick Red lips Burberry
For those of my readers who are sensitive to real fur please don’t read further!!!!
As I mentioned earlier I’ve been looking for a fur jacket with a couture feeling and today when I stepped into a vintage store it was hanging there, my shearling jacket and didn’t cost very much, it’s gonna stand out to all the black leather shearling jackets shearling everyone’s wearing. The shearling is uncut and I love the leather details and the big neck, it’s gonna keep me warm for sure and isn’t there a Burberry vibe over it even if this one’s from a time long ahead the Burberry Shearling?
I’ve found myself taking a conscious step away from all this shearling madness out there but I never say never, I might end up in there anyway. I’m rather looking for the perfect couture faux fur (or a real one), or a feather bomber, something like this jacket above from Maison Martin Margiela Fall 2010 collection, pretty much fur perfection to me and I’ve used it as inspiration when I had a look around what else’s out there.
I didn’t find anything similar but I came across these goodies in range of different prices, I know they don’t remind much of the original but I actually think the cheapest one from Bik Bok has potential.
Earlier this year, in April and May I was invited along with my good friend Kaz for several press days around in London. I was so excited about the next season’s outerwear, cape’s and coats in soft cashmere in beige and camel scales and the shearling aviator’s. Even if the spring hadn’t really started yet my mind was already on the next season despite there was a summer to be squeezed in between. And don’t get me wrong, I love the summertime but there’s something special with September month and the Fall/ Winter collections, a fresh start, blank sheets, like starting a new year in school, a clishé but oh so true.
I know I probably should be tired of this so obvious trend by now like many out there already are but how gorgeous isn’t Burberry Prorsum’s Fall collection, I love everything in it and for me the Aviator above all Aviator’s is the Reserve Shearling Aviator Jacket on the right above so beautiful!
Having that dream said out in the open reality brings me down to earth and I do have my feet well planted on the ground and not up in the sky. But if anyone by any chance get tired of theirs they are more than welcome to send it my way.
