It’s mid November and so far we’re reliving another mild London fall, bare pins during winter months have become the new normal and I’m not to complain. Transitional dressing will always be a favourite, and allows easy fun layering instead of total wrapping. As part of my conscious choice of not wearing jeans all the time I actively remind myself to wear dresses and skirts as often as I can, we all know chilly winds can put an end to that any day soon.

Soft knitted dresses aside, the Irish designer, who once stated he hated to design dresses and evening wear, J.W. Anderson, has become my go-to for interesting, allrounder-dresses that works equally well daytime as evening, with trainers, flats or heels, even layered over shirts, knits or trousers. Probably it’s exactly his vision and ideology the reason why I’ve personally felt drawn to his dress creations. Farfetch always has a great selection by the designer and they tend to sell quickly (see here), but Resort 2016 drops are just around the corner, so stay tuned!

Being a lover of overalls and one-pieces, I love dungarees, come and go trends, they always feel current. I rediscovered my love for them during my pregnancy a few years ago (cliche!), but since my baby bump has gone my collection has grown rapidly in various styles.
This season my absolute favourite pair are these by Citizens of Humanity, with a perfect fit and wash, flattering wide legs, and not flared to the extreme(!). I’ve been living in mine this fall and have no plans of moving out very soon either. Dungarees and overalls are for all ages if you ever imagined any limits, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, tata!!

Dungarees by Citizens of Humanity (also herehere and here), wool knit by Stella McCartney (also here), leather biker by Balenciaga (also here), boots by Chloe, suede bag by Jimmy Choo (different versions here), silver earring by Annelise Michelson, iPhone case by Charlotte Olympia, diamond rings by Monica Vinader and DeBeers.

It’s not often I jump on the print wagon, and certainly not when the colour red is involved, but it was love at first sight back in February, when then Gucci’s newly appointed Creative Director Alessandro Michele, served us geeky-chic seventies vibes and ruffles, that instantly got me onboard.

I’ve been wearing this floral ensemble, signed by the latter, already more than many others of my wardrobe treasures, and will keep on trying for different ways, though varieties are not endless. Anyway, layering over trousers was not invented yesterday, but that’s just what I will do this season to get the most out of my favourite dresses, shorter and longer hems.
And then you’ve got the ruffles… Be prepared, it’s gonna be one of the key trend words come 2016.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Sorry for no post updates during my stay in Paris but there simply wasn’t enough time, if only days were longer. Now, I’m back in London and better roll up those sleeves with post-Paris-work, coming back soon!

City life

Getting dressed for days in a boiling overheated city can certainly be challenging. Though I on certain days much rather stroll around in flip flops, kaftan, a tousled hair bun, and no trace of make up, beach life doesn’t really work in the city.

Shorts and shirts have been my way to go, and these embroidered shorts which in fact are beachwear(!), works just as well in the city paired with a crispy white shirt, as on the beach with a bandeau bikini.

Men’s shirt (similar here), new embroidered shorts by Karma, shoes by Chanel (found in sales), sunnies by Acne (here), necklace by Cooee and bag by Celine.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and a great kickoff in the new week!

Summer, yes, what was that again, someone please remind me, I seem to have forgotten the meaning and content of it by now, and realised that the only way of getting one is to escape England at some point very soon.
A lesson learned for me this year is not going bananas for summery stuff (fully prized) early in the season, unless it’s one of those really rare pieces that sell out immediately. I mean by the chance you get to wear them they are already in the summer sales so whats the point (think I just made a pair of retailer enemies right now!).

Anyway, summer or not, I’ve dug out my “old”  booties by Dolce & Gabbana (here and here) and paired them with a skirt by Zara, jumper by Vanessa Bruno, bag by Celine and sunnies by Tom Ford

Happy Sunday everyone!
Sorry for a slightly slow “comeback” but I’ve had my hands pretty full lately, and though I have got dressed every morning(!), having it caught on camera hasn’t been first priority or simply forgotten, but I’ll get back in there for sure when days run a little smoother.

Some sort of spring has finally arrived in London (so happy!), but I’ll definitely wait a little longer before bringing out floaty, light fabrics and bare legs, Anyway, it’s wonderful to air those feet that has been locked in way too long this winter, don’t you think?

Jeans by Mango, shirt by Dries Van Noten, old parka by Isabel Marant, new shoes by & other stories, bag by Proenza Schouler, sunnies by Tom Ford, watch Michael Kors and Balenciaga ring.

As you may understand I find myself in a bubble at the moment and just want to cuddle with my little girl whom we just can’t get enough of. I will slowly start updating here more frequent again, but until then you’ll always find me on instagram @hedvigso.
Now, head out there and enjoy the rays, such a glorious day in London!
