It’s not often I jump on the print wagon, and certainly not when the colour red is involved, but it was love at first sight back in February, when then Gucci’s newly appointed Creative Director Alessandro Michele, served us geeky-chic seventies vibes and ruffles, that instantly got me onboard.

I’ve been wearing this floral ensemble, signed by the latter, already more than many others of my wardrobe treasures, and will keep on trying for different ways, though varieties are not endless. Anyway, layering over trousers was not invented yesterday, but that’s just what I will do this season to get the most out of my favourite dresses, shorter and longer hems.
And then you’ve got the ruffles… Be prepared, it’s gonna be one of the key trend words come 2016.

Industry rumours…

Hedi Slimane-Vanityfair.com photoHedi Slimane, Vanityfair.com

Little causes as much speculations and rumours in the fashion sphere as when designers are leaving their post in iconic houses, voluntarily or not. Last week the Kering group announced the departure in February of Patrizio di Marco, Gucci’s chief executive, and Frida Giannini, its creative director, after 10 years at the helmet. The rumoured list of successors has since taken of, Riccardo Tisci, Joseph Altuzarra, Peter Dundas, Stefano Pilati, Thomas Maier, Maria Grazia Chiuri, and the latest contender in the loop, Hedi Slimane. How about Tom Ford, did I say that?

Rise and shine world, it’s a new week, and for most of us a very busy one with holidays just around the corner, cheer up, there’s light ahead!

Btw, “It Bags”, do you remember the expression that was overly used and might still be. Personally I was never really into it, when anything “qualified” the term it already felt so overexposed and passé. It might be one of the perks of working in the area though. Being under constant exposure of the fashion industry make many see things differently over the years. Speaking for myself, stripping down my wardrobe to the absolute clean lined timeless essentials would be ideal, I might never get there, but opting for the organised, non-cluttered part of your life sounds so good in theory. The latter explains my latest addition of arm candy, it was love at first sight with this understated bag from Gucci’s Holiday collection, clean, sharp and versatile, just the way I like it.

The Nouveau

Gucci Nouveau Shoulder Bag

If you wanna go tribal this season in a more toned down way, a fringed or tasselled bag is one way to go, and it works so perfectly well with any minimal and clean look. My Friday pick lands on this orange Nouveau bag by Gucci, that also comes in a longer fringe suede version if yore more of a maximalist. Yours for £1,360 and you’ll find both versions here, yum!

Though I’m a pretty black cat I love wearing whites, especially this time of year when we’ve survived the darkest season and only brighter days are ahead. It’s wonderful isn’t, that days already are getting longer, and if you’re a real optimist you can already start looking for signs of spring, well, I guess the latter would depend on you geographic though.

Anyway, white leather pants are essentials to me this season, and these baggy specimen along with this shorter version of my grey coat (that I’ve practically been living in), and these Monica Vinader diamond rings, are all new wardrobe favourites.

Happy Monday morning to all of you and don’t forget to enter the £500 Monica Vinader give away below, only a few days left now!

Light mood

Turtle knits have certainly been “my thing” this season, and combined with the weather we’ve been blessed with so far it has allowed us to leave big chunky scarves at home. Wearing lighter colours have also been a conscious “act” of mine, and though I’m pretty much of a black cat, I swear lighter colours sort of brightens up your mood now when days are getting shorter.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday? Only a few years back I personally had to clue of any, but in these digital and global times you must have been hiding in a cave with no internet connection or been a real anti-shopper at heart if you haven’t snapped it up. My inbox have been full lately with all sorts of  sales, offers and discounts than ever before and if you’re an eager online shopper like myself I’m sure yours is too. Now is the time to get those things you’ve been eyeing for long, but never really could justify to pay at full price, let the joyful shopping begin!

New favorites

Right now these are favorites in my bathroom closet, they are both floral but irresistible fresh fragrances. Gucci’s Eau de Parfum II is a classic and more feminine while Martin Maison Margiela’s Untitled is a unisex with hints of bitter citrus, wood and musk.
