Alexander Wang x H&M

Alexander Wang for H&M

Hola guys! Sorry for the absence this week, but I’ve been soaking up on Caribbean beaches for a few days and had no time for keeping up with fashion updates.
Well, I’m probably the last person on this hot news wagon, but this is a collaboration I’m quite excited about. Alexander Wang for H&M launching 6′th of November this year, which gives us plenty of time to be excited and speculate.

Unique SS13

Topshop Unique, images style.com

Woop, woop, happy Monday morning!
I’ve been spending some time this weekend going through all spring collections again (!), and one of the ones I’m looking forward myself to hit stores soon is Unique’s chic, airy and sophisticated collection. It includes everything from graphic pieces, asymmetric dresses to all monochrome looks for a (little!) more affordable penny.

Vassilisa

Today I popped by Vassilisa’s showroom and had a closer inspection on Nadja Solovieva’s SS13 collection, and gosh does it include some amazing printed silk and cashmere scarves that I wouldn’t mind have hanging around my neck come spring. I couldn’t leave empty handed and brought something incredible soft and luxurious along home with me, yeah!

Melbostad to Diesel Black Gold

Diesel Black Gold Fall 2012, images style.com

I’m still chilling on a Greek island but it’s impossible not keeping an eye on news updates and doing preparations for coming fashion weeks from my pool side. News of a new and very promising partnership is that Norwegian designer Andreas Melbostad is reported as Diesel Black Gold’s creative director after Sophia Kokosalaki’s departure was announced a few weeks ago. Melbostad was creative director at Phi for 6 years until 2009 were he was applauded for his textured leather and 80′s silhouettes, and has since then been running his own consulting firm working with major clients like Roberto Cavalli among others.

Sophie Bille Brahe

I spotted a beautiful earring on a girl the other day and asked her where it was from, it was made by her friend Sophie Bille Brahe, a Danish fine jewellery designer, graduated from London’s Royal College of Arts. Though it’s all about chunky costume jewellery this season I prefer my everyday jewellery delicate but cool, almost invisible but not too prude. I’ve been asked by many of you readers where to find similar rings like my set in silver, well, here you got it, check out her premiere collection Le Fenêtre here.

Bjørg’s Heresy

Bjørg Jewellery Lookbook 2012

The award winning North-Norwegian jewellery designer, Bjørg, creates jewellery close to my heart, and her latest collection doesn’t disappoint, raw but yet so incredible beautiful.

Her latest video Heresy by Matias & Mathias which is is an extension of the lookbook might not be for the fainthearted so I’m warning you that some of you might find it quite disturbing. But I came across this blog post by the Swedish filmmaker Emil Klang and I couldn’t have said it better myself.

3.1 Phillip Lim SS12

Images style.com

So many collections to absorb from what we’ve seen this fashion month and Phillip Lim’s SS12 collection is among my favorites so far, I mean, what is not to love about it? Sporty-chic, cool, wearable, clean cut, not to mention the gorgeous fresh color scale of soft pastels like lavender, peachy-orange and pink, also, the footwear here looks really interesting. This is definitely one of  the collections that’s gonna be haunting me through the darker months ahead, I want to wear every single piece and look right now and not wait for next spring.
See the whole collection here.

On my mind…..

(Except for the insanity in London right now) Bum bags! Ever since I spotted them on Dolce & Gabbana’s runway back in February they’ve been on my mind. The D&G ones for fall/winter might feel a bit too sparkly and “stary” for my taste but Danish designer Yvonne Koné makes fabulous bum-and-belt-bags in gorgeous soft lamb leather. The beautiful girl below snapped by Stockholm Streetstyle demonstrates perfectly how I’d like to wear mine, love!

Zero + Maria Cornejo A/W 11-12

Images style.com

Yesterday I sourced through collections from February for inspiration and one designer that did catch my eye back then that I totally forgotten about is the NY based Chilean designer Maria Cornejo with her own brand name Zero + Maria Cornejo. I love these clean cut looks in her fall 2011 collection, simple, but beautifully draped luxurious fabrics, a little feel of avant-garde yet very wearable. If you’re really into more architectural pieces, check out the rest of her collection, there are plenty of them.

Haunted

I’ve mentioned many times before how much I love Norwegian jewellery designer Bjørg‘s work and yesterday I tried on this silver ring when I stopped by Voga, which is one of the best stores I’ve ever stepped into in Norway. No buys for me this time though but I’m sure this ring will haunt me down…….

Hot

Chanels‘s urban fall collection that was presented the other day is the youngest and most wearable I’ve seen by Lagerfeld and not very often do the models look like their young age but they did in these looks. I can’t say I loved it all but there’s something very interesting with those loose fitted jumpsuits and footwear.

You can see the whole collection here or I’ve made a small article on Flingly

Riccardo Tisci replaces Galliano

The final choice of who’s gonna replace Galliano at Dior has landed on the Italian designer Riccardo Tischi who presented his collection for Givenchy in Paris this last Sunday.

It has been confirmed by insiders but a press release is still not out.

Heikki Salonen

Did you know that reindeer leather is beautifully soft and delicate and is used just in the same way as cow and lamb leather, well, I have to admit the thought never really crossed my mind before I saw the fall collection from the Finnish designer Heikki Salonen during London Fashion Week.
His collection featured some really nice leather pieces, among them a dress, pants and top and unisex boots and I like the idea that use of reindeer leather fulfill the criterias of ethical and sustainable fashion which I give high scores to, feels so modern in a way.

Unfortunately my camera was on streik that day so here’s all the images I’ve got but you can see the lookbook video below.

Karin Malm A/W 11-12

I have to admit, I don’t know very much about this swedish designer Karin Malm, graduated from Saint Martins in London but I do know I love the silhouettes in her collection, the usage of different fabrics and the gorgeous belted coats. One of you my lovely readers called me a coat-kindagirl and I guess you’re right on that one.

I’ve posted about a few other designers from Stockholm Fashion Week that I liked, Rodebjer and Whyred on Flingly, there are still a few more to come.
