Maison Martin Margiela never does anything within “normal standards”. A coat is never just a coat but a piece of art, there are always some special details, either as cuts in sleeves, zippers or the front and back are 2 completely different things. When i watched the show live I wasn’t so enthusiastic about it but my favorites are definitely the coats and some of the accessories, like the oversized clutches and the crazy nutty rings even if I know they are totally not wearable. See the whole collection here.
This fantastic hairy creation from Margiela landed on my door yesterday and I’m thrilled. Maybe not the season to invest in furry coats and pieces but in fact this one is perfect for spring and fall as it’s not too thick, classy with off course the Margiela touch which I love. Did you guys read the article my lovely reader Katarzyna tipped about yesterday, “Invest in your wardrobe”, if not, you’ll find it here.

I want to wear flared black pants and a colorful top like this paired with my future green coat straight away but I don’t have any of them right now. What I should do is to focusing on my billion-things-to-do-list and hopefully if I’m lucky my flight will take off tomorrow.
I’m not over the red color yet even if it’s been a huge part of 2010. But I do prefer the orange red more than deep red and I’ve got the feeling I’ll gonna love it a whole lot longer cause the more I’ve stared at Jil Sander’s Spring Collection 2011 the last couple of months, the more sure I am that I’m gonna wear these eye catching block colors for next year. It’s like the mismatch of strong colors grows on you. I’ve mentioned my crawings for a green coat earlier but I’m also keeping my eyes open for a suit like above even more orange.
This last summer I had ambitions of pairing my red leather pants with a strong pink colored shirt, a color combo I love, but I ended up never sporting the look, will do again if I haven’t change my mind by then.
As you may notice I ended up at H&M today, 4 full bags but to my excuse only a fraction of it is mine, most of it is for my man and presents. But if he doesn’t fit the beautiful coat I’m tempted to keep it myself, I tried it on in the store and loved it, slightly oversized and the perfect length, no need to limit yourself to ladies wear when menswear can be worn in so many cool ways. Did you go and what did you get?
Ever since I spotted this cashmere, wool coat in UK Vogue in July I wanted to get something with the similar cut. Just when I thought I was too tired of all camel & beige colored coat talk to bother adding more of this scale to my wardrobe I spotted this one in Selfridges on my way out to catch the last 15 min of the Sunday’s football game in a pub, from Oasis and only 1/10 of the prize of the Phillip Lim coat I’ve been drooling for and posted about in Yes Please!
Ultimately I wanted to pair this with my brown sandal wedges but as I was expecting it to pour down when I left home today I went for my safer alternatives, boots Acne, velour shorts Zara, knitted jumper Next and bag Biasa
