You’ve probably seen it already but mmmm Phoebe Philo, in my eyes you can hardly put any foot wrong, merci beaucoup!
Celine’s A/W 11-12 campaign photographed by Juergen Teller, is far from the most exiting campaign out there this fall but all focus is on the looks, which at the end of the day is what counts. Though my favorites pieces are not shown here I find this collection just as desirable as when we had a first look back in March and now I can add perhaps the coolest pair of sunnies I’ve seen in ages on the list as well, just what I’ve been looking for.
These sandals from Alexander Wang’s A/W 11-12 collection are to me perfection, so delicate, cool and elegant, and I love the edgy detail on the heel, I would have bought them already if only my feet could ever squeeze into them but I know by now that narrow shoes like this requires tiny feet. Perhaps time to consider some corrective foot surgery, kidding! I’ll survive but you’ll find them here.
I haven’t popped by Whistles for a long time but judging their A/W 11 campaign I like where they are going this season, clean cuts, color blocking and prints in a palette of deep purple, red, navy and sunflower orange, that white color block blouse will be tried on pretty soon! Thumbs up for the nature setting and natural poses, brings the garments and images to life.
Also, the French stunner with that beautiful name, seen in Celine’s Pre-Fall collection, Suzie Bird, is one genetically blessed young lady, loving her look!
Yesterday I sourced through collections from February for inspiration and one designer that did catch my eye back then that I totally forgotten about is the NY based Chilean designer Maria Cornejo with her own brand name Zero + Maria Cornejo. I love these clean cut looks in her fall 2011 collection, simple, but beautifully draped luxurious fabrics, a little feel of avant-garde yet very wearable. If you’re really into more architectural pieces, check out the rest of her collection, there are plenty of them.
I could stare my eyes out at Givenchy’s fall collection, though I wasn’t totally in love back in March I’m definitely now. What I love the most with this collection are the long silhouettes, voluminous upper parts combined with narrow lower parts, the beautiful embroidered jackets, knitted and silky jumpers, the colors scheme and the mix with patent leather, all so perfect, and unfortunately attached to a juicy prize tag or vice versa……
As for the Panther glasses, could be a hit this coming fall but I think I’ll pass.
On Thursday I stopped by Temperley London‘s press office to see the fall collections close-up, Temperley, Alice by Temperley and Barbour Gold Label (Alice Temperley’s high end line for Barbour that will be in stores from June).
I found some pieces I really liked, among them a leather biker waistcoat and a cropped waxed jacket by Barbour. And though I’m not too much into red carpet and bridal pieces I couldn’t help myself admiring the gorgeous worked details.
Loving these neck collars as seen on Michael Kors A/W 11-12 show and as there is a risk I would develop an anxiety attack wearing these I would probably go for something “less dramatic” and more comfortable. I’ve been looking around for alternatives without any luck but everyone sends me more or less in the same direction when I ask, to the bondage shops in Soho……. But as I rather hope to find it in a fashion jewellery section my hunt continues so please drop me a line if you have any tip.
Maison Martin Margiela never does anything within “normal standards”. A coat is never just a coat but a piece of art, there are always some special details, either as cuts in sleeves, zippers or the front and back are 2 completely different things. When i watched the show live I wasn’t so enthusiastic about it but my favorites are definitely the coats and some of the accessories, like the oversized clutches and the crazy nutty rings even if I know they are totally not wearable. See the whole collection here.
Chanels‘s urban fall collection that was presented the other day is the youngest and most wearable I’ve seen by Lagerfeld and not very often do the models look like their young age but they did in these looks. I can’t say I loved it all but there’s something very interesting with those loose fitted jumpsuits and footwear.
