There are so many temptations out there right now, resort collections hitting stores and great winter sales ongoing. My “dilemma” is if I strike I probably won’t fit into it anyway until the season is over, so I’ve chosen to close my eyes (man it’s hard!) and focus on the beautiful spring that will come eventually. With a few exceptions though, like this currency printed shirt from Acne’s resort that I’ve wanted since I first had a look on this collection, and even if it’s a little tight over my bump right now at least I can wear it come spring.
While up in Oslo earlier this week I got a strong reminder of what real winter is about, I once was used to arctic weather, but -19 raw Oslo air, honestly, it was really painful and not very surprisingly the streets were almost empty of people. I wore my duvet winter parka every day, which I guess is the only way to stay warm along with furry boots, except one day, when I bravely stepped out in this cape, sometimes layering of wool work as well, at least if you just rush in and out between stores and cafées.
My outfits these days are pretty limited to jeans, shirts and knits when on the run, but at least to vary a little I’ve been playing around with accessories and jewellery, like these new gold pleated earrings, a little golden bling bling on a regular weekday sometimes does it for me.
On another note, right now it’s early Sunday morning and I’m an unusual early bird as I’m about to catch my train to beautiful Paris for a few days. Enjoy your Sunday folks and see you in Paris!
A few days ago I had a bad experience in one my beloved areas of London. Having someone suddenly jumping on you from behind grabbing what they can may scare anyone to bits, but my initial reaction was anger(!), I got a hit in with my umbrella and ran after the creep who jumped into a nearby building. After getting away with nothing more than my phone, and hopefully problems with the police, I hope he thought it was worth it. Now in the aftermath I’m relieved it ended there, it’s insane how far some are willing to go, but lesson learned is that it could happen to anyone when you least expect it, so stay safe, tuck your phone away and grab your beloved handbag a little harder!
Today I’ve been a busy bee running between meetings and press views, hence my non-existing updates, but here’s what I’ve been wearing at least. Lately I’ve totally adopted everything comfortable, soft college jumpers, knitted dresses and lower heels, who would have thought?
Skirt by Isabel Marant (as dress here), new Homies jumper by Brian Lichtenberg, cashmere coat Topshop Boutique, new suede boots by Acne, tights by Wolford, bag by Proenza Schouler and silver necklaces Cooee and Tiffany’s.
Aahh, this weekend passed on too quickly, I’ve hardly started on my-to-do-list, and honestly it wasn’t so long to begin with. I guess the darker chillier rainy days start to get to me. However, we’ve had a few glimpses of clear skies this week and I made sure to be out there soaking it up leaving my heavier winter gear at home.
…. I’m gonna wear my new feather padded snow parka by Acne, in other words, I’ve got no intentions of freezing during the winter months ahead. These “typical-Scandinavian-style” coats are selling rapidly, and if you wanna lay your hands on one yourself you’ll find them here, yours for £560.
Every early fall no matter trend alert I crave for something burgundy. Last year it was an oversized burgundy knit, inspired by Celine’s fantastic pre-fall 2011, that found it’s way to my wardrobe. This year it’s this jacket from Topshop Unique, not sure though if it was the colour or cut that got me.
Anyway, here’s what I wore one day in Paris last week, it was chilly in the air but a really beautiful day. I wore a wool skirt and t-shirt by Acne, jacket by Topshop Unique (sold out but this one is similar biker style), boots by Phillip Lim, bag by Proenza Schouler, bracelet Hermes and Cooee, and sunnies by Tom Ford.
Jeans, a checked shirt and slippers, something I’ve been sporting a lot on the go lately but never managed to catch on camera. Not this time around either apparently as I had already jumped into my booties by the time I managed to bring the camera out. Speaking of these Dolce heels, I’ve received so many mails from you readers about where to find them, and I can gladly tell you they stock same style model at Net-a-Porter right now.
Ok first, this is not in Paris right now(!). These images are 2 weeks back in NY, when sporting minis’ and shorts were the natural choice cause of the heat. Again a favourite combo of mine, max+mini and a fabulous pair of shoes that I was so happy to come across over the pond. Sadly one of them came faulty so I returned them, and the staff couldn’t find me another pair. So shoes for one day, well, sometimes I like to think that things happen for a reason, though they were 2 beautiful things, and I loved the mirrored heels.
Dressing the last month has been a little challenging, you know when you’re at a stage when it’s not really clear to people if it’s actually a bump you’re carrying or if you just had jolly days with food. Well, what to do, thankly I love maxi silhouettes and oversized jumpers but last week I dropped it all and left home like I normally would without “that” in mind.
I’m back in London after a few days constantly on my feet, today and next few days I will take my time to rest, and go through tons of images and impressions from the last couple of weeks, before I turn my nose to Paris later this week.
Sorry for not posting many outfit images but they will come for sure, like this one about a week too late, when I headed for the Acne show, wearing a mix of Acne and others. This wrap skirt is by the way is one of my favourite purchases recently, the rusty green colour screams fall, and since I bought it one size up than I normally do I can probably wear it all through fall and with tights when it gets colder.
And oh, say hello to my new patent boots, a purchase from NY, with a perfectly fierce pointy toe, a little mod’s, just the way I like it.
Good morning folks! First I’d like to say a big thank you to all your best wishes I received the other day, it’s been overwhelming, you’re simply the best!!!
London Fashion Week has come to an end and and moved on to Milan where I’ll be joining tomorrow for a couple of days, days are moving so fast and I’m wondering what happened with September so far, it kind of escaped me. Over the weekend in London we got our first taste of fall, the leaves have gone more yellow, and the breeze a little chillier, but as long as it’s wonderful bright and sunny there’s nothing to complain about right, just throw on a warmer jacket or knitwear and you’re sorted, love this time of year!
Despite Jonny Johansson’s source of inspiration, Wrecking Ball, behind Acne’s SS13 collection presented yesterday, which included lots of “pretty and white”, it was the black leather and more tailored looks and pieces I liked the most. The collection as a whole has a mix of romantic western, music and street vibes, where the clash of romanticism and tough at times worked for me while others not. However, I can see girls like Hanne Gaby Odiele rocking the most extravagant maxi parachute skirts with rock printed tees come spring, while I’ll be eyeing the leather pieces, off shoulder top and striped suit. See the whole collection here.
Thanks a lot for your best wishes the other day, I survived my little emergency, going through some torture for feeling so much better afterwards was definitely worth it!
Anyway, this time of year it’s usually about transitional dressing, which is my favourite time, when you can wear fall’s new skirts, dresses, coats and boots with bare legs. Personally I’m so into dark, rich colours this coming season, especially royal hues, but I’ll wait a little longer before I’ll bring them all out in the shape of a fall wardrobe, after all it’s still 24 degrees out there.
Old mohair cardi by Acne, jeans by Current?Elliott, shoes Miu Miu, bracelet Hermes and bag by Celine.
