A reminder

After months of fall collections bombarding us it’s easy to forget there’s a season in between at least it’s how I’ve been feeling lately. I did not go all crazy about Chloe’s fall collection but I really liked the spring collection back in October so I’ve digged into my archive and think I like it even more now, feels so refreshing. Chloe was a contributer to the ballerina trend we’ve seen lots of this year but there are so many other elements in it as well, like the fitted tops, blouses, shorts and sandals and the good thing it’s accessible in store or it can just be used as inspiration. Like the gorgeous leather shorts above, love them but they come for a juicy price of £1200 but you’ll find same style at other brands like Phillip Lim and highstreet like Maje. Still waiting for the sandals though, they look interesting….

Chloe A/W 11-12

Chloe’s fall collection 11-12 featured a lot of python and animal prints which really isn’t my cup of tea but I love these lederhosen and the colorful cape.

Isabel Marant A/W 11-12

The Isabel Marant show today was 3 hours delayed so all my plans to do a run out in the late afternoon was also very delayed cause I really wanted to see this show live as I’ve been looking forward to it for a while. Marant herself obviously have had cowboys and indians in mind for this collection, and if I just close my eyes for the hideous footwear I see many pieces that I really like, loving would be an exaggeration or maybe they just need time growing until the must-have moment kicks in.

Favorites are the denim pieces, I wouldn’t mind any of the white coats either and the wonderful knitwear seen in her spring collection is still in there. I guess I’ll be trying to lay my hands on certain pieces when they are in store in like 5 months….

See the whole collection here and judge for yourself.

The Blues

Loving the blues in Sportmax fall collection, what is the right name, turquoise blue, electric, vibrant blue? Overall the whole collection was ok, the silk shirt on the right looks heavenly.

Maxis, brogues and bum-bags

Dolce & Gabbana sent down their donnas on the runway today in Milan wearing maxi dresses, brogues with socks and bum bags. I love this unpredictable combination though I find it hard to swallow the star prints that seems to be the red line through the whole collection. Having that said I’ve never been a D&G fan but these bum bags look fantastic!

Jil Sander Fall 2011

Images by

Raf Simons presented his fall collection for Jil Sander in Milan today and not very surprisingly I like it even though I was much more excited about their spring collection. Many black looks and darker colors, clean cut as usual and the knitwear and patterns give me alpine vibes. Some of the looks reminds me of the outfits Tilda Swinton wears in the beautiful movie I Am Love. Notice the blue/green eyeshadow, nice!

See the whole collection here.

The Photodiarist

Came across these images on a NY photo blog called The Photodiarist snapped during NY fashion week when I wasn’t aware. The beautiful photo blog takes you on a trip in mostly B&W images and some in colors, taken by the talented Photodiarist herself, definitely worth checking out.

LFW Day 5 – Ashish

Today was last day of womenswear in LFW and to be honest I’m looking forward for tomorrow, it’s the day of menswear and then it’s over this time around. I’ve got so many images and things to absorb but here’s some pics I snapped at the last show I went to today, Ashish. I can’t say I’m crazy about this collection but you’ve got some interesting elements in there, lots of knits, shredded denim, british flags, colors and lots of attitude. The show was packed, looked like everyone wanted to catch the last show of womenswear.

Now I really need some sleep to be ready for a long day tomorrow, lets hope for sunshine!

Seeing red

One designer I really wanted to see yesterday was Mark Fast but as I people were lining up in order to get in to the show I realized it would be an impossible task, as seen several times this week, not everyone even with invitations to the shows get inside, simply to many people.

We ended up joining the disappointed crowd watching the show on big screen outside the tent instead.

A friend notified me I’ve been featured on Harrods website, shots taken yesterday, day 3 LFW, great, as my own images turned out pretty bad in the dark noon.
I wore cropped Levi’s, knit Isabel Marant, leather jacket Vibe Johansson, cape Stine Goya, booties Acne, bag Alexander Wang.

LFW Day 1

It wasn’t such a kickoff day of fashion week as I thought it would be, rather a slow start that felt more like as if it was the last day, people’s enthusiasm, energy and excitement simply wasn’t there as I’ve experienced in the past. Maybe cause the weather didn’t turn out as good as expected, perhaps the shows disappointed, who knows.

But I strongly believe it will all improve today despite the rain outside, it’s Saturday and the crowd missing yesterday has arrived from NY.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a photographer stand yesterday, so images are blurry and I struggled with the light, hopefully that will get sorted out as well.

I’m heading out again in a minute, have a lovely noon!

I popped by Bloomingdales while in NY and had a closer look on Theyskens’ Theory spring collection, or what was left of it, I wasn’t over the moon as many of the best pieces already sold out.
These looks are from Theyskens’ Fall collection and is exactly what I would like to wear this spring, dilemma or budget alternatives please.

I’ve posted about this collection at Flingly if you’re interested.

Everything that involves Tom Ford right now is super hot and by that I don’t only mean the man himself. These are shots for the February issue of Interview where Jac Jagaciak models some of Tom Ford’s pieces from his Spring 2011 womenswear collection, photographed by Craig McDean. Even if I feel pretty tired of animal prints right now I might feel like jumping into something again soon.
