Nice looks at Zara right now, lace, flower prints, knee length skirt and mix of feminine and masculine, pretty much the keywords on my mind right now.
Muse
Arizona Muse by David Sims Vogue US November 2011
It’s Halloween and I’m suppose to go to a masquerade party tonight, just wish I had a floor sweeping dress like this in my wardrobe. This “War Horse”-inspired spread, styled by Grace Coddington and photographed by David Sims in Vogue US November issue, is incredible beautiful and Arizona looks absolutely stunning, on the other hand, when doesn’t she. Vogue UK December 2011
Images Vogue UK
Wow, this is what I call a December issue cover, Gisele Bundchen photographed by Mario Testino in true 80′s spirits, no reindeers and Christmas sequins in sight but a vibrant mix of colors and spring looks, some of them perhaps a bit too much circus’y for my taste and the cover itself has a tacky warning, but fun indeed, and not at all what I would expect from Vogue UK. See the whole spread here.
Miroslava
It’s been so wonderfully warm and sunny over here in NY this week, which is only a positive thing, except that my luggage consists mainly of fall stuff and I really regret I didn’t bring along more summery clothes and dresses. Miroslava Duma however seems to have her along wardrobe in place for hot temperatures and she looked so cute today when I snapped her outside Phillip Lim’s show.
Celine A/W Campaign
Celine’s A/W 11-12 campaign photographed by Juergen Teller, is far from the most exiting campaign out there this fall but all focus is on the looks, which at the end of the day is what counts. Though my favorites pieces are not shown here I find this collection just as desirable as when we had a first look back in March and now I can add perhaps the coolest pair of sunnies I’ve seen in ages on the list as well, just what I’ve been looking for.
Points forts
One of my favorite spreads recently is Points Forts in Vogue Paris August 2011 issue, styled by Geraldine Saglio and photographed by Karim Sadli. I’m in love with the casual unpretentious layered styling and I wouldn’t mind any of these cozy knitwear’s in my wardrobe right now, it’s chilly out there…..
Whistles
I haven’t popped by Whistles for a long time but judging their A/W 11 campaign I like where they are going this season, clean cuts, color blocking and prints in a palette of deep purple, red, navy and sunflower orange, that white color block blouse will be tried on pretty soon! Thumbs up for the nature setting and natural poses, brings the garments and images to life.
Also, the French stunner with that beautiful name, seen in Celine’s Pre-Fall collection, Suzie Bird, is one genetically blessed young lady, loving her look!
Oslo
I guess I have to eat my own words, the Prada creepers ended up on my feet afterall but I decided to go for the thinner wedge and not the one seen on the runway, though I like them better, at least I believe these ones have a longer life expectancy and easier to wear. I never had such a masculine shoe ever but it’s perfect to mix with more feminine stuff such as a cute skirt.
Anyway, need to jump in a cab to catch my flight, going to Oslo for a few days, see you there!
Fast fashion
As part of my “new” regime of shopping wisely, I’ve stopped popping into Zara like I used to. I’m not lacking self discipline but have you stepped into Zara lately you might feel the same way, lots of temptations, new nice but most likely short-lived pieces every week, fastly produced inspired by runway collections. I’m now entering the store with a clear mind of what I’m looking for, like these 2 dresses that need to be studied up closed…..
How do you feel about fast-cheap-fashion?
Mimosa
Predicted to be a great hit this spring and summer nail wise is Chanel’s Mimosa 577, but as usual their limited edition nail polish fly off the shelves as soon as they hit the stores. A great, affordable alternative is this one from Topshop, I got mine last summer and it’s brighter than it looks and yours for £5. I know it’s not really the same thing as there’s something special with the shine in Chanel polish and they stay like rocks but I was frequently asked on my recent trip if it was Mimosa on my toes. Anyway, if you, like me, are interested in the real thing, you’ll find it in store from 20th of May.
Muse
I’ve got a weakness for fashion videos and I really like this one, may due to the combo of clothes, model and music, you’ve probably seen it already but it’s beautiful and worth seeing again, gorgeous Arizona Muse models YSL‘s S/S collection while moving around a palm tree to the sounds of Janelle Monae’s “Mushroom & Roses“.
