A striped suit, but by the time I can fit into one again it’s probably springy days and i might opt for something lighter like seen in Acne’s SS13, sweet!
I’ve tipped about the Camelia oil earlier, but now after trying several other products by Elemis I’m totally hooked as they make the skin so soft and lean, and perfect when you want to spoil yourself with a luxurious home spa treat. “New-ins” are Elemis Lime and Ginger Salt Glow, Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath, and off course a refill of my favourite oil, Elemis Japanese Camellia Body Oil Blend.
I’m starting to get into the December-Christmassy spirit which usually takes a little longer for me, if it’s the scents I’m burning at home, the lighting decoration in my window or my little trip to Norway I don’t know, but after watching this beautiful video from Topshop starring Kate Boswort singing on top of a piano, I’m not less in the mood. The video takes inspiration from the The Fabulous Baker Boys, and I vaguely remember how drop dead gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer was in that movie, time to dig into the archives.
While up in Oslo earlier this week I got a strong reminder of what real winter is about, I once was used to arctic weather, but -19 raw Oslo air, honestly, it was really painful and not very surprisingly the streets were almost empty of people. I wore my duvet winter parka every day, which I guess is the only way to stay warm along with furry boots, except one day, when I bravely stepped out in this cape, sometimes layering of wool work as well, at least if you just rush in and out between stores and cafées.
Woop woop, I’m back in London and jumped straight into my heels this morning when I joined a fabulous group of women at Tod’s Christmas lunch at 5 Hertford Street. I wore my new stripey viscose blouse from Zara (a real budget bargain!), a new pair of velvet skinnies by J Brand (maternity-fantastic!), my beloved Agnes by Jimmy Choo, signature bag by Tod’s and a new golden coin bracelet by Monica Vinader (coins are my latest crush!). Now getting ready for next event, wishing you all a fabulous eve too!
Yesterday eve Karl Lagerfeld presented his pre-fall 2013 collection for Chanel outside Edinburgh, and if his vision of pre-fall is anything to go by then it looks like the Scottish plaids parade will last beyond summer and continue into next fall. Though many of the looks in this collection might feel too costumey and like a travel back to more regal days, there are plenty of beautiful pieces that I wouldn’t mind wearing as we speak, that gorgeous coat worn by Stella Tennant for instance, or the dreamy black dress above, hand them over here now! See the whole collection on style.com.
I’m apparently into darker outfits these days, and have been sporting lots of all black, something I usually rarely do. Either if it’s dressing accordingly as days are getting darker or to minimise my growing silhouette, I don’t know.
Anyway, here’s what I wore the other day when I caught up with my sweet friend Martha for lunch at Sloane Square, before I later in the day jumped on a flight to Norway, now chilling at my mum’s place mentally preparing to step out in -11 degrees. Happy chilly Sunday everyone!
The last couple of days there’s been a rumour flying in the wind that Alexander Wang has been a likely candidate to replace Nicolas Ghesquiere as Creative Director at Balenciaga. According to WWD the rumour has been confirmed true to market sources and an announcement from the fashion house is expected to be released this week.
If you have your ways through London from now until 3’rd of March then a hot address in town is the new Valentino exhibition that opens tomorrow at the Somerset House. It promises to be a journey into the secretive world of Italian couture and includes everything from exquisite couture designs, photographs and screenings, add that to your calendar.
A few weeks ago I was kindly asked by De Beers to pop by their beautiful store on Old Bond to pick my favourite pieces for a holiday wish list for their website. Needless to say I had a blast, I mean, trying on the finest jewellery and diamonds of all sizes isn’t really that hard and not something I do on a daily basis.
Here’s my “demure” diamond-dream-wish-list and not very surprisingly I ended up with quite classic delicate pieces that are not too much in your eyes, and can be worn stacked together, on their own or mixed with chunkier costume jewellery, just the way I like it. These beautiful 0.03 carat band rings (starts from £650) for instance are perfect for stacking, or use as pendants on a chain.
You’ll find all product information and prices here on De Beers website, and a big thank you to De Beers for the warm in-store experience!
When I come across great fabrics for a good price I strike, well almost, I’m so regretting I didn’t look a little harder for the white version of this cashmere turtleneck on the day of the MMM for H&M launch 2 weeks ago, especially now when I’ve got the hots for cozy warm dresses. And like a friend said the other day, ” that’s a lot of cashmere for £69!”, can’t argue that.
