Who’s not in on comfy dressing? Well, I am for sure, and I raise my hand for monchrome dressing too! Totally fell in love with this new set while trying it on (in blue), and I can’t wait to wear it out for drinks paired with heels or with slippers for a chilling look, hereby my picks of the week in stores, by Stella McCartney Resort and the trousers and blouse come as separates.
This fall is not all about checks ala laundry bags (hello Celine!) and traditional tartan in various colours. Lets not forget about the ‘Prince of Wales’, a timeless plaid that is not that distinctive (and so 2013!) as many of the checks out there at the moment. Hence, this coat is a long time keeper that I’ll also be wearing when we’re all over the “checked era”!
Joseph is one of my favourite british go-to-brands, and after having had a close-up look at the SS14 collection they will retain their position with polished clean cut silhouettes of high quality. Exciting news to other Joseph-fans is that the label will show on the London Fashion Week schedule for the first time in February 2014, and as a minimalist Scandinavian living in London I applaud that!
Add Norwegian jewellery brand Tom Wood on your radar if you haven’t already. Lust-worthy (!), timeless, solid, unisex rings in sterling silver, gold and quality gemstones (no platings in sight!), are my favourites, but the line also includes necklaces and earpieces, all with an androgynous feel.
No matter what’s going on out there I always come back to the classics, so here we go again. Sporting these cropped suit trousers a lot lately, they are real all rounders that I either wear with the matching blazer or pretty much everything else in my wardrobe.
With memories of days in the City in the back of my head I personally always avoid very tailored pieces like this with a white shirt, while I see others manage to make it look everything but office’y, but I’m up for the challenge.
Happy Sunny Sunday you lovely ones!
Nipple balm aka Lanolin for your lips? (Breastfeeding flashbacks anyone?) Best balm I’ve ever tried for chapped lips and works on everything from dry skin areas, cuticles to a make-up booster. 100% pure medical grade Lanolin, fragrance free and worth every penny. Dr. Lipp is yours for £11.50 and you’ll find it here.
London weather has been on the milder side this fall and it has been possible to postpone being all wrapped up, we all know those days are just around the corner though.
With no need of a wintery coat I’ve been practically living in this cashmere knit that I use with anything, like these super soft flared legged jeans by MiH for instance. Most people would perhaps initially pair them with heels, but I got mine cropped to wear with flats, feels much newer in a way I think, and you avoid looking and feeling too costumey.
The former Balenciaga designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, is now finally confirmed as Louis Vuitton’s new creative director after Marc Jacobs recently stepped down after a 16-year long career at the LV mansion. Ghesquiere will present his debut collection in March, and after missing his work the past year, I know where I’ll be looking more closely come next fashion week.
Leave it to Vogue Paris editorials to inspire with trends and pieces you never realised you actually wanted, wide legged avant garde belted trousers likes these for instance, not to mention yet new “Birkenstock-inspired-versions”, well, we can blame Phoebe Philo for the latter.
Dungarees and Air Max? Nope, I’m not preggy again (!!!), neither on my way to the gym, certainly not fit for the cocktail party, but suits me perfect when on the run. My little girl will hopefully (or perhaps not!) be walking in not too long and I’ll probably be very glad I’ve stocked up with comfy, runnable footwear when those days come along.
From a sartorial point of view I like the freshness, or confusion is more like it, a pair of sneakers adds to most outfits, especially when they come in happy colours like these or cool prints.
If you are craving a new biopic based on a fashion legend, then you’ll probably find this little beautiful sneak peek of the movie ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ just as teasing as me. The movie, directed by Jalil Lespert, has the backing of Pierre Berge, Yves partner in both life and business, and will release in theatres in January 2014.
Shades of greys are dominating my wardrobe right now, something I never intentionally planned, but a fact (!) after a recent wardrobe cleanup. Unlike most other colours grey shades can be layered so well together without putting much thought into it, and that carefreeness fits perfectly with how I usually get dressed.
Wool trousers from Cos bought several seasons ago (similar styles here and here), wool sweater by Stella McCartney, coat by Ganni (also here and here), shoes by Chanel, Sella bag by Tod’s and Tag Heuer watch.
Celine Resort 2014
Images of Celine’s Resort 2014 collection are now official after being kept very well under lock for months. I personally have mixed feeling for Celine’s Spring collection, but needless to say this is right up my alley by judging only from photos. No screamy colours nor prints in sight, Phoebe Philo, I want to wear every single piece and look, perfectness!
Ok, I’m not the greatest fan of “in-your-face-logos”, neither have I ever been in love with “The Boy”. However, sometimes the unexpected do happen, and when I tried on this little hybrid youngster i soft pink (imagine!), I was tempted not to put him back on the shelf. Lord!
