Who minds a fashion injection in December, and a compote of Pharrell Williams, Chanel and Cara Delevingne, directed by Karl Lagerfeld is as great as it sounds. The almost 8 min short film ‘Reincarnation’ celebrates the origin of the Chanel jacket, inspired by a lift attendant (Pharrell) working in a hotel near Salzburg, enjoy!!!
There’s something about mid blue denim, and I find my love for it happen more cyclical than anything else on the trend radar, if you could ever call denim a “trend”. After a few seasons of being absent on my front shelves in my wardrobe, I’ve a strong feeling I’m gonna dig out a few “old” blue denim pieces very soon and look for new additions come spring 2015. Stay tuned for more blues…
It’s Black Friday!!!
Celebrating a season of sales shopping and great retail offers with some of my favourite picks out there. My best sales shopping tip is to invest in classic timeless high quality pieces that could end up being staples in your wardrobe for seasons ahead, and avoid the trap of too-on-trend-at-the-moment pieces, though it can be very tempting. Think ahead and keep next season in mind, happy shopping gals!
Midi dress by J.W. Anderson, Suede bag by Saint Laurent, 18K white gold earring by Carolina Bucci, Mohair blend sweater by Saint Laurent, Shirt by Maison Martin Margiela, Sunglasses by Gucci, Ankle boots by Gianvito Rossi, Leather gloves by Mario Portolano, Wool skirt by Carven, Diamond and gold necklace by Sarah Chloe, Leather pants by Acne Studios.
Boots of the season to me are beyond doubt the knee-lenght, ankle boots in all their glory, the longer boots have finally come out on top. If winter in London will end up as chilly and wet as predicted I’m happy I stocked up with a few pairs that also make it easier to wear skirts and dresses throughout the season.
On another note, a budget tip this week is this little collared velvet dress by Cos that I’ve already worn to bits, just remember to pair it with higher denier tights.
Happy Wednesday to you lovely ones!
Vogue US December issue provides the perfect inspiration for the 70′s flare in the air perfected on Natalia Vodianova styled by Grace Coddington. Except for being totally sold on high waisted suede A-line skirts I’m personally so in the mood for a longer or short suede coat belted in the waist, the hunt is on!
Meanwhile, while the rest of the northern hemisphere looks like being buried under snow, London still encourages transitional dressing code, if this is the “new” winter, I’m definitely signing up for it.
Speaking of something London’ish, you can hardly go more London than the iconic Liberty retailer, which amongst many attributes is famous for their iconic prints. After being offered to have a look on their latest additions to the Iphis collection including bags and other accessories, my eyes landed on this canvas tote, the perfect travel mate or when you carry a few things extra along.
It’s the season for Christmas drinks and parties and a personal favourite of mine that works for any occasion is the jumpsuit. Bless the LBD, but I find a wrap jumpsuit with a little 70′s flare a tad more chic, and eliminates skin baring in chilly receptions. You’ll find plenty of options out there right now, but my personal favourite is this creation by Diane Von Furstenberg, the all-round winner and officially added to my wish list, along with these other new picks in stores, yum!
I’m not a beauty junkie, and don’t try on new products very often, but this organic beauty line based on Argan Oil by Norwegian Alexander Sprekenhus are new favourites of mine and deserves a shout out. Not only will I recommend them as brilliant products that really give your hair a hydrating boost, they also tick the boxes regarding design and price level too, thumbs up!
Hydrating Shampoo (£22), Hydrating Mask (£30), Hair Styling Elixir (£28).
If you’re a little confused and not sure whether to turn right or left at the next crossing it’s sometimes good to pause and take a step back, that goes for the world of superficial sartorial choices as well.
In these fast moving and visual bombarding times it’s easy to get carried away, good or bad, if you’re “feeling lost” grab for the basics. A timeless biker, soft knit and everyday heel are included on my list. The latter are new species in my wardrobe that I think I’m on my way developing a love story with, great walkable sling backs are a rare find, please make more of them, anyone?
Leather jacket by Balenciaga (also here), wool trousers by Celine, knit by Tom Wood’s Heroine collection, shoes by Dolce & Gabbana, bag by Balenciaga (also here), gold necklaces by Marte Frisnes, Marlene Juhl Jørgensen and De beers.
Good morning out there, hope you all had a wonderful week and feeling ready to meet November!
Due to the surreally mild and dry London weather lately (21 degrees, I’m not complaining!) transitional dressing continues. I wouldn’t mind this climate and easy dressing represent the “new winter”, however we’ve been warned, a record freezing winter is just around the corner, feeling just as surreal though…
I don’t want to try to intellectualise my choices of outfits, but in these turtle neck times, don’t forget about the turtle neck dress, I’m loving this pocket friendly style by Ganni, an easy go-to-piece that I surely see the usage of this winter with tights and boots.
Dress by Ganni, coat by Tibi, boots by Miu Miu, bag by Balenciaga (also here), gold and diamond buffalo necklace by Marlene Juhl Jørgensen, earring by Sophie Bille Brahe, and Ray Ban’s.
Phoebe Philo continues what she does the best, another pre-collection that feels fresh, new, but still has what has become so very Celine. The french house have lately kept their pre-collections under seal, and the image release of this highly anticipated Resort 2015 collection coincides with the release of the ads fronted by what has become Celine in house model Daria Werbowy. Feeling inspired anyone, I surely do.
Over the years I’ve learned to narrow down my wish list for the beginning of every new season, since I like to mix it up with timeless basics already in stock. This season my list included the rather obvious ones, a blanket cape, a few coat assembles, more chunky knits (can’t get enough), knee high boots (still haven’t found), and high waisted A-line skirts. With the latter as one of my new wardrobe favourites as it’s super versatile and everlasting, you can surely sign me up for leather and velvet versions too.
And the award for the best looking electric toothbrush in town hereby goes to Foreo! I never thought I would add the latter to my wish list but here we go. This stylish toothbrush comes in a travel friendly mini version too in a range of colours, starting from £89-£149 and you’ll find them all here.
