Alexander Wang x H&M

Alexander Wang for H&M

Hola guys! Sorry for the absence this week, but I’ve been soaking up on Caribbean beaches for a few days and had no time for keeping up with fashion updates.
Well, I’m probably the last person on this hot news wagon, but this is a collaboration I’m quite excited about. Alexander Wang for H&M launching 6’th of November this year, which gives us plenty of time to be excited and speculate.

On repeat

I have a tendency of repeating myself, but some things are worth repeating, like the usage of a lovely soft knitted cardigan for instance. It’s the perfect throw-on and I especially like the contrasting with delicate silks. One of my new wardrobe favourites is this fluffy thing by Acne, that I’m gonna pair with a silky spaghetti strapped dress come late summer nights.

Bucket bags

Bucket totes

Bucket bags are fully back this season, and I would’t personally mind me one in nude or a softer colour, perfect for summer and could work as come-long to the beach too, yum!

You’ve probably seen it already but this “Kicking Back”- editorial in Vogue US April issue pretty much sums up my mood this spring, stripped back simplicity, chilled silhouettes and gorgeous effortless pieces. Thumbs up to crew Grace Coddington, photographer Karim Sadli and girl crush Daria Werbowy.

Happy Friday morning out there, hope you all had a great week, and starting to see the light of the tunnel wherever you’re based geographically.

Suddenly London turned into blooming warm spring, something I’ve embraced to the fullest. Well, despite the enthusiasm I won’t jump into full on summer outfits just yet, and I seriously need to work on de-paling my limbs before any more exposure to the world. That’s why culottes are such great transitional pieces, just the right amount of freedom this time of year, not to mention perfect to dress up and down.

At this time of year when we are all a sick tired of our coats and outerwear adding a belt has been my way to go on those chillier days. In fact I’ve been wearing my coats all over again and mixed them up with different belts, voila a new look and shape, well almost. Lets hope for the warmth now shall we!

The Philo Factor: Reinventing Cool

Northern Light-Phoebe Philo-VogueFestival2014-photo by Hedvig Opshaug

This weekend I headed over to the Vogue Festival with especially one talk in mind, Celine’s creative designer, Phoebe Philo in conversation with Vogue UK’s editor-in-chief, Alexandra Shulman. It was such a rare occasion, Phoebe who hardly never speaks in public, being quite protective of her private life, shared her thoughts on her inspirations, aesthetics, women sexualisation and beauty, female leadership, juggling motherhood and work, and so much more, and I deeply regret I never recorded the 1 hour conversation with this super inspiring woman who radiates integrity.

But in case you ever wondered …
– Phoebe Philo doesn’t like compromising!
– The man reason why Celine is not sold online is that the fabrics and designs should be experienced in real life.
– Phoebe doesn’t overall mind the highstreet copying of her designs, and referred to Coco Chanel’s famous quota, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery!”.

Sophie Bille Brahe AW-14

Sophie Bille Brahe, Le Rêve

I’ve been a huge fan of danish fine jewellery designer, Sophie Bille Brahe, ever since I came across her stunning pieces a few years back. For her A/W collection called Le Rêve, she has stepped up with her already popular pearl pieces, and the results are asymmetric sensual shapes inspired by the pearl itself. The best seller Elipse earpiece, is also renewed with grey pearls come fall, yum!

Oh you spring, you sure had us fooled for a while!
Anyway, chillier or not, the sun has been out this week and so have I and my little supergirl, constantly by my side or in my arms whatever I do. With some common sense in mind that should have restricted my wardrobe to jeans and more childproof items by now, but that won’t happen, at least as long there’s no mudd involved!

Adidas Originals + Pharrell

Latest on the collaboration side, hot multitasking Pharrell Williams, has paired up with Adidas Originals and designed a collection launching this summer which certainly will satisfy the cool kids. As if the relaunch of the Stan Smith’s earlier this years and prospects with other like Kanye West, Raf Simons and Rick Owens, haven’t created enough buzz about the brand already, you’re on Adidas!

Clean lines

Studio Nicholson2

London based label Studio Nicholson has been on my radar for a while, and I love the brand’s minimal no-fuzz esthetique with focus on clean separates and excellent choices of fabrics. If you’re already a fan of The Row you’re gonna love Nick Wakeman’s design, and it’s gonna cost you a whole lot less.

Relax babe

Relaxed silhouettes are right up my street whatever the trend barometer, and to me it’s not only about opting for an effortless look, but who doesn’t love feeling comfortable. The underlying in many of my sartorial choices is based on just that, the feeling of the fabric and the perfect tailoring. These wide trousers for instance tick all the boxes, and can be dressed up and down in a million ways. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but wide trousers are amongst my favourites this season!

Miu Miu

Miu Miu Lace Ankle boots

Lace-up kitten heeled booties are having a moment, and though the competition between Saint Laurent and Miu Miu is pretty fierce, my favourite is this model by the latter, just as good worn bare legged as with jeans, and super comfortable! Yours for £610.
