Monica Vinader + Hedvig

As you may know already through my posts I’m quite a fan of Monica Vinader’s jewellery, and since I first walked into the store on South Molton street and got myself an engraved bracelet, I’ve been hooked. I think the idea of having jewellery engraved (Make it Your Own!) makes it all so much more personal, along with the “stacking principle” of Monica’s lines which I also love.

Needless to say that I was thrilled to be approached by the brand to host this event above and a joint reader competition, something I feel very excited about, and which feels like the most natural thing as I’m already such a fan of Monica’s jewellery. I’m therefore pleased to invite all of you lovely readers to come along to an exclusive 20% off shopping evening on the 18th of July. No need to miss out on this offer if you’re not based in London. We are giving my readers 20% to redeem on the Monica Vinader website on the night of the event. Just enter the code cited on the invitation.

As part of our collaboration, you will also have the chance to win a ‘Create Your Own’ necklace combination worth £250 and an engravable Ava friendship bracelet by simply doing the following:

1. Tell us what you would have engraved on your Ava Bracelet and why by either
2. Commenting on this post or
3. Tweeting @MonicaVinader and @HedvigSO using #MVLights

I will be in the store on South Molton Street on the day where I will select the winner of the competition where everyone is eligible to enter worldwide, so what are you waiting for? I hope as many of you will make it on the night and join me for shopping, chats, styling, fun, champagne and Scandinavian canapés!

    Hi Dear,
    My engravement would be “Tlek”
This Hungarian syllable has a unique and funny background.
Approximately five years ago my boyfriend (who is my husband and best friend now) were visiting a friend, and while we climbed up his stairs,we stopped to talk to each other. My boyfriend told me to continue walking, but after two steps I forgot his word and stopped again. Then he said that I’m like a fish in the fishtank. When you touch the glass the fish swims away, but after two seconds it approaches to you again. The same way when he tells me “Szeretlek” (what means “I love you”) I ask him “what does Tlek mean?”(He just wanted to point out my shortmindedness by already forgetting the first syllable of the word)
From that point we only say Tlek if we want to say I love you.
Thank you Hedvig even for reading these lines.

Thank you so much every fabulous one of you for your response in this competition, which certainly was a tight one! I’ve read through every single one of them and judging one motivation over another cannot really be done as they are all special to every one of you.

But one winner has to be chosen so massive congratulations to Alexandra, you’re the winner of a £250 Monica Vinader necklace and AVA bracelet with the motivation:

“I would have the word ‘always’ engraved. It refers to a quote my best friend and I have loved for years, it’s from a book we read and loved together. It would make the most exquisite gift!”

    xx
