Lips

Vogue Paris November 2012 – Kendra Spears by Lachlan Bailey

I want to wear some colour on my lips these days ala the deep red shade above, however the problem for me whenever I’ve used covering lipsticks in the past, especially at this time of year, is that my lips get too dry. Any miraculous tips out there on a deep red moisturizing lipstick?

Try the rouge in love line of lipsticks from lancome. I love them! They are fairly long wearing and the best texture ever! Very moisturizing. You could also try a thin layer of lipbalm under the lipstick too. I use carmex, it keeps my lips from drying out even with not-so-nice lipsticks. Hope that helps!

I do not have a lipstick recomendation, but I do have a great tip on how to moisturize your lips.

Every night, brush your lips with a toothbrush (medium hard) (this peels of the old skin, helping the lips absorb the lip balm. It also helps the blood flow in the lips). Put on a thik layer of good lip balm (Carmex, Blistex, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour, what ever you prefer). Voila, moistured lips all day (even under lipstick)!

This color is gorgeous and I can just imagine it looking amazing on you! I think it really suits you and you should go for it!

I would so love to put on some red lipstick, however, my skin color and thin lips don’t allow me to, since it doesn’t suit me. Perhaps this darker shade could, you’ve made me want to try it.

Clinique made something that works for my dry lips and colors are classic and chic, and the texture is so creamy, really comfy on my lips (I tried so many lipstick before this!) here is the link: http://www.fr.clinique.com/product/1605/5404/Maquillage/Rouges_a_levres/Long-Last-Lipstick/index.tmpl
About my tips for soft and moisturized lips: try “Homéoplasmine” on (http://www.boiron.fr/Nos-produits/Medicaments-homeopathiques/Medication-familiale/Dermatologie/Homeoplasmine?gclid=CO6Cze24rLMCFQzKtAod1wEADQ), it is magic, but I don’t know if you will find this where you are.

I hope this have been helpfull!

I wear red lipstick constantly and yes, no matter the moisture they can kinda get dry. I just lightly brush a corner of a wet washcloth over them to get the flakes off.

Clinique is good for non-drying. The only other non-drying lipsticks I’ve come across (and I’ve tried many) are Nars and Chanel but pricier. If you want it to stay on all day it needs to be matte though and that does get a little dry. Avon surprisingly makes GREAT dark lipsticks with staying power. Also I sometimes cheat and use a dark lip liner as a lipstick. Much less drying.

I recommend the Chanel Rouge Allure line, they are so lovely and smooth. I also recommend to use a lip balm generously before applying. Put the lip balm on first, do your face, make some tea, watch the news, whatever – then use a tissue to blot off the excess lip balm and apply the lipstick. That colour in the editorial is so decadent, I’m hunting it down now hehe X

Hei, Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream lipstick er veldig bra og gir masse fukt, men du må legge på flere lag for å få dyprød farge. Guerlain har også laget et kjempefint leppestift med et lite speil inkludert.

My tip is use a good eye cream underneath. They moisturise great and won´t affect the lasting of your lipstick.

I recently was going for the same look and the artist at MAC recommended their sugar lip exfoliator followed by lip balm then Nightmoth lip pencil and Endless Drama lipstick. the Nightmoth lip pencil is a deep color you apply to the outer corners only for depth and drama. Totally love it!

I’m using Avène Cold Cream for moisturizing, put it on first, then wait a little, then the lipstick. Shiseido is working best for me as far as covering lipsticks are concerned.
