High & Low

I know, someone might find it hard to digest fall picks before we even had summer, but we all know that in order to be able to lay your hands on your favorites, especially when it comes to shoes, you have to be an early bird. I’ve said it before and I say it again, this coming fall knee-high boots are coming in forces, finally! But there’s strong competition on the ankle boots side and these are some of my picks for next season.

Pont de Solférino

A new favorite in my wardrobe that I’ve been wearing a  lot lately but not managed to catch on camera is this knitted camoflage jumper from Topshop, perfectly slouchy on relaxing days, like last Sunday in Paris was to me, visiting Musee d’Orsay and drinking hot chocolate with rum.
Jumper from Topshop, jeans by J Brand, shoes by Acne, bag Celine and Ray Ban’s.

On my mind…

Topshop Unique’s fall 2012 collection, which has a mix of Proenza Schouler-Balenciaga and Burberry Prorsum-vibes. Can’t wait to see this stuff in stores, especially the coats and trousers, they all look fantastic and would probably price tag just a fraction of the other names mentioned.

Latest addition in my bathroom closet is this instant nail polish remover (£8) I got at Sephora while in Paris last week, just dip your fingers into the box and turn it around, no grease and nail polish gone, magique! Best polish I’ve ever tried, dermatologically tested, smells good and definitely living up to it’s name.

On Friday I celebrated the end of week with some color and slipped on my (very!) yellow jumper that you’ll find on sales here right now. I didn’t at all have in back of my mind the Swedish football game later that day, which I was asked several times during the day. Yes, I like sports to some degree but would never let it affect my sartorial choices, this was simply a pure coincidence, I swear!!!

Big thanks to Anna who snapped me, I wore jeans by Current/Elliott, knitted jumper by Altuzarra, shoes by Prada, belt by Isabel Marant and bag by Givenchy.

I bet the streets of London have never looked as good as this weekend, and by that I’m referring to the amount of well dressed men. London’s first fashion week for men with a full on show schedule for spring 2013 kicked off on Friday and I dropped by to document a little. The male fashion crowd had really made an effort and there was everything from young streetwear, punk and men in suits, but isn’t there something special with the latter, whatever age. For you guys out there in need of inspiration here’s a sneak peek but I’ll suggest you’ll check in on the major men’s sites as it’s fully covered there. Enjoy!

And oh, a little budget tip, you’ll find the cute burger socks in H&M stores right now.

On the run

The shoes on my feet today are these beauties by Prada, I just couldn’t resist them when I stumbled into Prada’s 50% shoe sales yesterday. Would you believe me if I say they are super comfortable, I can assure you they are, which is like an unexpected extra bonus, strappy stilettos comfortable, yeah right! Now on the run again, big game shown in London pubs tonight, I love you England but today I love Sweden more.
Happy Friday evening folks!

3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2013

Images style.com

I really like some of Phillip Lim’s looks in his Resort 2013 collection, casual, soft silhouettes with a cool vibe. I’m so into relaxed outfits these days (someone wake me up!) and wouldn’t mind slipping into any of these. Look number 3 and the b&w courts, yes please!

I’m so into shades of khaki’s right now, beige, olive green and pale earth tones, you name it. These colors are relaxing to me in a way or perhaps it’s because the pieces I’ve got are pretty laid back (?). I really wanted to wear more colors this summer but been completely put off by the gray skies, when is it all gonna stop, I ask myself while listening to heavy rain smashing against my roof windows.
Cloudy skies or not, yesterday I stopped by my old hood, lunched with David in Soho, who also snapped me (thanks hun!), and later got trapped on the newly started sales, but that’s a different story that is not yet over.

I wore a top by Balmain, old trousers from Mango, parka by Isabel Marant, bag by Givenchy, shoes Camilla Skovgaard, necklace Tiffany’s, bracelets Maison Martin Margiela and Cooee, and Ray Ban’s.

Puh!!! Just got home after “accidentally” stopping by the shoe sales gallery at Selfridges, ladies and gentlemen, if you haven’t already checked out the sales in the major malls in London yet, jump in your shoes and run before the goodies are gone! Anyway, today’s pick except for a pair of new shoes, lands on this comic slogan merino jumper by Markus Lupfer (£310). As you may know quirky comic prints and slogans will play a role this coming fall, like seen on Phillip Lim and Balenciaga, and we might all need a dose of humor after this so far dreadful summer.

PS: I’ll keep you posted on budget versions

Stella McCartney Resort 2013

Images via Fashionologie

Stella McCartney hosted a carnival garden party in NY the other day to present her resort collection for 2013 that includes lots of lovely pieces and monochrome looks. Stella and Phoebe Philo worked together at Chloe in late 90’s and there’s no doubt they share the same style aesthetique, which I personally find so appealing, loving the leopard and floral pieces, not to mention the wide legged trousers in this collection.

Chillin in Paris

On Saturday while in Paris I strolled around the beautiful streets in this relaxing outfit while crossing my fingers the sun would push away the clouds, but had no luck on that point. Instead I enjoyed what I usually do while I’m there on my free time, like hanging on brasseries for hours drinking wine and observing passing people, tourist thing number 1 I guess but isn’t that one of the charms of this beautiful city. Luckily I brought along my new flats, rubber in the city, yeah for comfort!

Jeans by Isabel Marant, silk blouse by Acne, denim jacket from Topshop, sandals by Givenchy and bag Celine.

Woop woop, the summer sales has finally kicked off in Europe, but since I’ve become such a sensible shopper(!?) I’m only gonna get what I’ve been eyeing for a long time and not look sideways. But when I stumbled over this Obsedia beauty by Givenchy the other day that has been on my wishlist for a year, I didn’t hesitate for a second, the khaki color is perfect as I’m feeling a little army’ish these days.

Celine Resort 2013

Here  we go again, I think I’m in love with you Phoebe Philo, to loyal Celine fans not many words are needed. All the typical Celine elements are there though reinvented through even more slouchy silhouettes and even cooler put together styling. The scarves from fall collection are played around in different ways (loving that detailing!), not to mention the oversized portfolios and the plexi shoes, gotta get my name on lists for those.

Roland Garros

When I headed to Roland Garros in Paris this weekend to watch tennis I opted for practical clothes, yes, not the most exciting outfit in the world but sometimes practicality comes first, even though I’m not a fan of the latter. Though skinnies, wool, rain coat, and hot drinks were miles away of keeping me warm, I really enjoyed the games, never thought I would turn into a tennis fan but there you go.

I wore jeans by J Brand, wool knit from Reiss, loafers by Acne, coat Balenciaga, bag Celine and Ray Ban’s.
