Happy New Year!

I can’t believe it, 2011 has soon come to an end, but I’m so grateful for the wonderful year it has been in every way!

I’m not really the-looking-back-type but rather like to look and think forward. 2012 looks very promising already on my behalf, there are things I cannot share with you yet, new opportunities, but I will in time and would love to bring you along.

For now I’m just about to head out in the London night with my mum but I wish you all dear readers a wonderful celebration and all the best for 2012, Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

And it continues

Ok, there’s no secret wonderful knitted jumpers are favorite staples in my wardrobe and it seems like I can never get too many of them, either it’s cotton, cashmere or wool. High on my priority list for January and February are knitwear from Isabel Marant’s SS12 collection, perfect to wear with denim, skirts and pretty much everything.

Holidays

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas this time around, I enjoyed it fully on my side, sadly it’s over way too soon. I’ve left the country house, fireplace and snow covered land behind me and I’m back in London on bare grounds still soaking up what’s left of this holiday.

I found so many great gifts under my Christmas tree, among books, blankets, stars and chocolate I found this bag by Celine charmingly wrapped in blue silky paper and was absolutely thrilled! Today I brought it along for a relaxed walk and I think we’re gonna become great buddies, I wore jeans from Cos, knit and scarf by Acne, boots by Isabel Marant and watch Tagheuer.

Give a gift

I know, this image is a tough one but it’s the reality in many parts of the world and you’ve got to be made of stone if it doesn’t give you an uncomfortable feeling in your stomach.

Yes, it’s happy days and holiday season for most of us but we’ve all probably spent a lot on Christmas presents, decorations and filled up fridges with food. It won’t balance our spending madness but why not also donate something for a good cause. There are so many hard working organizations out there that need your support and I encourage you all to give a sum, small or big, I’ve chosen Save The Children, which is a global organization, you can donate gifts on the site or any amount you wish, and it’s only a few simple clicks away.

Though I prefer to wear my jewellery simple and sleek on my wrists and fingers I might feel tempted to wear something chunky in my ears like seen in Marni’s, Prada’s and Oscar de La Renta’s Spring 2012 collections. But I wouldn’t wear it with much other accessories, perhaps just with a simple T.

Norway

Yeah, I’m ready to go home, early flight tomorrow morning. This time packing was surprisingly organized and an easy task, 70% warm knitwear and a few dresses, cause where I’m heading there’s not much need of more, our country house, ok, I included a couple of heels too.
Just to give you guys a clue, when I arrive at the final airport I’ll need to take a small boat crossing a fjord to the final destination in complete darkness and silence. And by this time tomorrow eve I’ll be warming up in an outdoor jacuzzi watching the Northern Light.

The sea calls

I haven’t been the greatest fan of these Christopher Kane clutches but after I captured this PVS clutch in the hands of a lovely young man I wouldn’t mind getting it in a seafoam shade myself, need an injection of color right now in order to survive the darkness out there.

Bad timing

I’ve been lying in sick with food poisoning for a couple of days, the timing couldn’t have been worse, just before Christmas there are so many things to do, I guess that goes for all of us. Due to my stubbornness I’m back on my feet today and will need to get my stuff done in record time, already started!

Here’s what I wore on Sunday, it was bloody cold so I dressed in layers and felt a little like a Michelin man in a chunky knit and cocoon coat, could hardly move my arms but at least I kept warm. I wore an old silk dress by Acne, knit Zara, coat Isabel Marant, boots Thakoon and bag Chanel.

Loving this sharp editorial in Harper’s Bazaar Australia January issue, though it’s dark and “uber fatale” it’s a breath of fresh air in these “glorious times”. And ok, if I could ever get around to wear head pieces I’d love to add this visor from American Apparel on my Christmas wishlist, and while we’re at it I might just as well add the Wang sandals, Narciso Rodriguez coat, the Balenciaga ensemble, and all accessories…….

Soon baby soon

Wow, it’s getting cold out there so this weekend I’ve wrapped up in layers of wool, on chilly days like these my wool pants are a saver and if you’re interested to get a pair of your own you’ll find them on sales right now.
Anyway, there are no snowflakes in sight but I hope it will arrive in time and at least where I’m heading later this week, to the north of Norway, there’s a much bigger chance of a white Christmas. Cannot wait to go home to meet family and friends again, soon baby…. soon!

Last minute

One week to go before Christmas and when I woke up this morning the number of prepared gifts in my house was equal to none, same procedure as every year I’d say. So this whole day I devoted to Christmas shopping and though I had to practically fight my way through crowds of people in the streets of London, I got a little into that Christmas spirit which to me is pretty equal to stress, in a good way though. Anyway, stress or not, at the end I cooled down with a glass of champagne, caviar and oyster’s at Harrods, perfect after a shopping spree. Happy Saturday eve everyone!

Yeah, finally a Pre-Fall 2012 collection that is up my street, Phillip Lim has during the last year joined the group of my top favorite designers, in every collection he brings along something new, cool and uncomplicated and his comic book/superhero-inspired pre-fall collection is no exception. Lovely coats, cuts and edgy prints but I especially love the trousers, want them all! See the whole collection here.
