When I headed to Roland Garros in Paris this weekend to watch tennis I opted for practical clothes, yes, not the most exciting outfit in the world but sometimes practicality comes first, even though I’m not a fan of the latter. Though skinnies, wool, rain coat, and hot drinks were miles away of keeping me warm, I really enjoyed the games, never thought I would turn into a tennis fan but there you go.
Sabaidee, I thought Phuket was hot, but I can promise you Laos is even warmer, and I’ve been soaking up by various pools in Vientiane this week, the only place to be unless you’re hiding indoors, like most locals do, something I do understand though as the sun here is burning hot.
I’ve to admit dressing for humid 40 degrees isn’t that inspiring as what works best is floating fabrics and flat sandals, this day however I made a small attempt to put some more effort into it without melting away.
My little adventure has soon come to an end, tomorrow evening I’m heading back to Europe and London, so soon back to reality, see you there!
Top by Marni, denim skirt Whyred, sandals Celine, bracelets Proenza Schouler, bag Phillip Lim and Ray Ban’s.
As always when I pack my suitcase for a trip or holiday there are things I either forget to bring along or I urge that I had in my closet, like these picks. How I could forget a summery tote and open sandals at home is a mystery, and I’ve concluded that a small iphone bag to carry around the neck would have been perfect. Well, it’s to late now but I’ll for sure keep these beauties on my mind for my next trip.
1. Silk dress by Isabel Marant, 2. Sunnies by Alexander Wang, 3. Canvas tote Proenza Schouler, 4. Sandals by Givenchy, 5. Iphone sleeve Valentino, 6. Skirt H&M, 7. Floral blazer Maarten Van Der Horst for Topshop.
I’m not a big fan of paisley, whether it’s due to the association to home interior I don’t know, but somehow I’m a little more convinced than before, and I blame Raf Simons for that. So when I packed my suitcase for tropical days in Asia this old paisley smock insisted to come along, among with other airy light fabric dresses that are perfect to throw over a bikini. That’s pretty much what I’ve been wearing most of the time in the tropical heat, the freckles are back on and I’ve taken a break from hairdryers and make-up, wonderful!
Images taken in Phuket, I wore a dress Line of Oslo, shoes Alexander Wang, bracelets Proenza Schouler and Cooee, watch Michael Kors and Ray Ban’s.
Goodbye wonderful Ayara Kamala, lazy days by the pool, cocktails, fruit plates and good reads, now I’m just about to run to the gate for my flight to Bangkok and then heading for next destination, Laos, see you there!
Oh btw, these books are great reeds if you haven’t already read them, in my opinion Coelho’s books are absolutely fantastic, that should be elementary in school, thank you little sister for these gifts, I’m ashamed I haven’t read them earlier.
Headhunter by Jo Nesbo is a must by a Norwegian writer if you like more action, will definitely run out and get the DVD as soon as I get home.
Here’s pretty much where I’ve been hanging this last week, by a villa pool on a cliff in the Phuket “jungle” with the most beautiful peaceful view. However a few days back there was drama in the air when the tsunami warning and fear all of a sudden became reality, luckily warnings were soon called off and life went quickly back to normal, slightly freaky experience though.
New T-shirt dress from Zara, sandals and sunnies by Celine
Being a blogger with no internet connection is pretty hopeless, but I finally got it running in my new place and will post as normal from now on. Though life is pretty good in London these days I can’t help wishing I was back in my home city in Norway right now, according to my dear brother in the corner of this image, the Easter weather and powder snow is absolutely fantastic, envy!!!
Ok, I’m heading back to London to get some work done before I repack my suitcase for Paris in a couple of days. Didn’t have much time for shopping in Milan but a quick trip by the Celine store on via Montenapoleone resulted in something that I’ve wanted for years, Christmas in February!
Yeah, I’m ready to go home, early flight tomorrow morning. This time packing was surprisingly organized and an easy task, 70% warm knitwear and a few dresses, cause where I’m heading there’s not much need of more, our country house, ok, I included a couple of heels too.
Just to give you guys a clue, when I arrive at the final airport I’ll need to take a small boat crossing a fjord to the final destination in complete darkness and silence. And by this time tomorrow eve I’ll be warming up in an outdoor jacuzzi watching the Northern Light.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas holiday and I’ll see you in Norway!
When on holiday a toes+in+the+horizon (or sand)+shot is obligatory, despite how your feet look. Sorry for bad posting the last few days but I’ve spent the last 24 hours sleeping. Now, I’m finally rested and have time to look through all pre-collections so far, I’ll give you an update and send you a postcard from Tenerife later on. Happy Friday everyone!
It’s not even December yet and I’m already hungering for a sun bed, pool and chilling. I haven’t had a proper off-holiday since April and I guess that’s the reason why it starts to sneak up on me early this winter. However I did get a little holiday feel during fashion week in NY, I stayed at the wonderful hotel Dream Downtown, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, and though I had busy days it was the perfect place to lean back from the hectic life outside, lobster cobb salad by the pool every morning, oh I want to go back…..
Yes, I ended up missing the whole Celine event this noon so I headed over to the Tuileries for breakfast along Rue de Rivoli while waiting for the next show. One of my favorite things in Paris is to sit outdoor on a bistro observing life around and that’s exactly what I did in the summery sun this noon.
Yesterday late noon I took a fashionable break from fashion and rushed to the hotel for a quick change for the US Open single men’s finale. Though I’m not a massive fan of tennis being there was magical and I was cheering Djokovic all way through (sorry to my Spanish readers).
Oki, gotta run again and I’m looking forward to Tibi’s show later today, you haven’t missed out that the Swedish blogger, Elin Kling, is styling it, I’m sure she’ll kick ass!
I wore skirt by Lord&Taylor, top and blazer Acne, shoes and sunnies Celine, bag Chanel and jewellery like before.
Just got back into my hotel room after missing a show, realized in a cab I wouldn’t make it and turned back, damn! Well, on the good side the hotel I’m staying in, Dream Downtown, is fantastic and though the view up from the window (a hole in the wall) isn’t the best it’s pretty good if you look down.
Now, Fashion’s Night Out, have fun!
This weekend I also spent time in a beautiful village called Thonon on the french side along Lake Geneva, a perfect spot to calm down, relax and enjoy wonderful food, and the Salad de Chevre was probably the best I’ve ever tried. I’ll post some outfit images later on, have a lovely sunny monday noon!
