Loving the wintery, wrapped up, warm and cozy looks at Alexander Wang’s show yesterday that involved loads of contrasting fabrics and fantastic coats and outerwear. See the whole collection here.
I’m celebrating this Friday morning with some of my favourite couture looks presented this week in Paris, dreamy graphics at Giambattista Valli, sharp romanticism at Christian Dior, and beautiful whites at Valentino. Though couture might feel lightyears away for most people beautiful dreams and inspiration are both for free. On another note I’m loving that some couture has taken a smarter and cleaner path, though the simplicity I wouldn’t underestimate the handcrafts, it’s still there for sure.

Well isn’t there just something with a perfectly cut suit or a tailored look, whether on a man or woman. And ADR, don’t you totally rock that Saint Laurent look!
Loving these shots by-need-no-further-introduction-Tommy Ton for style.com during men’s Fall 2013 ongoing fashion tour, but I’ll also tip you about my friend Lee Oliveira, also on scene, presenting excellent street style photography.
If you haven’t seen the great Miu Miu SS13 collection yet, here’s the full show. Except for the beautiful items and girls walking up and down the runway (and stairs!), the show really is a pleasure for the eye, the music, setting and collection coming together creating a very sophisticated cool magic moment. Happy Friday morning out there!
I’m feeling in the mood of rings these days and during London fashion week I came across Italian designer Maria Francesca Pepe’s designs at the Somerset House, fashion jewellery with just the avant-garde look that I personally like, edgy but still delicate. From a price point of view it’s not bad at all, these hypoallergenic brass rings start from £45 to £122, all available on her website.
When in NY I met up with Tibi founder and designer, lovely Amy Smilovic, over a cosy lunch in Soho followed by a stop by Tibi’s offices to have a closer look on the fresh SS13 collection. There are several reasons why Tibi is right up my street, it’s young, flirty, casual and clean cut, and always consists of effortless, timeless pieces that can be worn in several ways again and again. This time around in comes in forms of sorbet colours, prints, black leather, washed denim and laser cut detailing, and I can tell you there’s plenty of sandals looking forward to as well come spring.
I’ve ran into Maria Kolosova, editor at Harper’s Bazaar Russia, many times lately and except for being incredible cute she always looks so well put together, with effort yes, but without trying too hard, just the way I like it! Like the other day at Chanel, where she looked absolutely stunning in this dream of a sequin jumper from Sportmax A/W-12.
If you like me, expect nothing less than an solid injection of inspiration everytime Phoebe Philo serves a new collection for Celine, then you won’t be disappointed this time around either. Though I have to admit not every look are my cup of tea, there are certainly those who are. I especially like the play of contrasting structures and the unfinished feel that many of the pieces have, which make it less perfect, cooler and so effortless elegant.
Favourite piece: The black mesh dress with pockets (Olalla, I’m in love!).
See the whole collection here.
My favourite looks from Balenciaga’s SS13 collection, that I wouldn’t try to resist, and totally fell for the tailored sharp structures, yet very nude collection with a lot of focus on the waistline. An area that I intend to sport come spring 2013, and just another motivation why getting back into shape post baby is super high on my priority list! See the whole collection here.
And oh, 1pm (CET) today it’s Celine time, stay tuned!
Woop woop, I’m running way late with posts here, like always during fashion weeks I’m afraid. Here are just a few snap shots from yesterday with a little Dior buzz, will post more later, have a fabulous Saturday!
I’ll try to be more active on Instagram during the day where you can follow me on @hedvigso
Grunge references and tartan continues to be part of next spring’s scene, latest seen on Dries Van Noten’s runway yesterday, where he mixed tartan prints with unexpected floral patterns and floral organza, and it worked so perfectly well. This collection is a stunner which you can check out here, but shy away if you’re an anti-print-minimalist.
I’m heading over to Paris in one hour and wouldn’t mind packing any of these looks with me……. See you in Paris!

In Milan on Friday I visited Tod’s SS13 presentation, and the beautiful event took place in the stunning settings of Villa Necchi, an absolutely fantastic architectured property, which also hosted as the scene in the movie “I Am love” with Tilda Swinton.
Except for the classic driving shoes in all possible colours the collection included some gorgeous bags in precious skins like python and crocodile. But the absolute highlights to me were the couture collection, in collaboration with designer Jay Ahr, aren’t these blingy loafers to die for?
Stylist Christina Centenera rocked the most amazing leather trousers yesterday by Australian label Ksubi, wouldn’t mind these at all!!!
I’m on the run again, but if you wanna see what I’m up to during the day, you’ll find me on Instagram under #hedvigso, yes I know, I’m like the last person in this universe to hook up on it, but better late than never right. Happy Friday everyone!
