Picks

transitional outfit-Northern Light

It’s time for transitional dressing again and while the weather still allows bare legs I would still choose to bring along something knitted. Tomorrow, Paris is on the menu and I wouldn’t mind at all jumping into this total look, with the cashmere knit wrapped around my shoulders or waist, all new picks in stores!

Wrap dress by Isabel Marant, sunnies by Christian Dior, cashmere knit by Jil Sander, diamond pave ring by Lynn Ban, bag by The Row, and calf-hair boots by Acne.

Black out

Happy Monday morning world!

Culottes have certainly been ruling my wardrobe this year in various fabrics and colours, and my love for them is still going strong. I love how they work so well casual dressed down with a chic cosy knit or more dressy with a blouse or top. On this particular day back in NY volume was apparently on my mind, volume on volume, just love breaking them rules.

Holzweiler – The perfect scarf?

Holzweiler wool & cashmere scarves

I’ve always been on the hunt for the perfect chunky scarf that has the soft cashmere touch but still has enough hold not to fall flat around the neck. Well, I’ve found them in my motherland Norway, by Holzweiler Agency, blends of wool and cashmere, made in Italy, and comes in a range of sizes, prints and and colours, in the pocket friendly price range of €109-€135. I’ll start wrapping mine over my shoulders with a belt ala Burberry as soon as temperatures allow it, yum!

Kimono me

Hedvig Opshaug August 2014-2

It’s been a while, but I firmly believe the world is still standing!
As you may know the semi annual fashion month tour is fully on, and so far I’ve been pretty much living in suitcases, spending more time in taxis between appointments and shows than in front of my laptop. The good thing though is that amongst my heavily packed suitcases there is space for inspiration that I’m storing on the go, and hopefully after having time to digest it all, we’ll have something to snack about in the darker months sets in.

Sartorial-wise I’ve sported  the dress+sneakers look a lot lately, either kimono dresses or little lace numbers. This has certainly been the year of sneakers and pointy flats, and from what I’ve seen so far it won’t be over very soon either.
Happy Tuesday  Everyone!

Ryan Storer

ryan storer

I’m personally a big fan of Ryan Storer’s new collection which involves clean, bold, yet understated pieces with Swarovski pearls. Fine jewellery really is peaking at the moment, which also goes for their amounts of carats and price tags, but these pieces come more pocket friendly for sure. This Rhodium earring for instance is yours for £160 and you’ll find it here.

August have been a busy one, while it seems that most people have escaped cities for airy beach life I certainly have been on the run or in a flight. Jeans, blouse and sandal combo’s have become my simple choice of outfits, especially when you’re juggling early nursery drop offs and meetings.
Well, soon they are off again, the clothing I mean, I’ve saved the best of summer to the last, a very much longed for holiday ahead, beach life ahoy, see you in Mykonos!

Bossy me, probably loosing patience on my non-professional photographer friend around who just kindly offered to help (so sorry dear, please forgive me!). Wearing Frame denims, silk shirt by Saint Laurent, bag by Proenza Schouler (also here and here), python sandals by DelRioLondon, watch by Larsson & Jennings, diamond rings by Monica Vinader, and Ray Ban’s.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Who would have thought, Anna Wintour is a sport, and along with so many others accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge, to support the ALS’s fund-raising that has gone viral this week. After being challenged by Gisele Bundchen and her own daughter Bee Shaffer, Wintour further on challenged Roger Federer and Dominic West, go Anna!

If there’s a pattern I’ll never tire of it’s got to be plaids, something the piles of classical checked shirts and scarves in my wardrobe clearly proves. This fall season, like so many before, plaids are back, not that they ever left, last year was full on plaid-mania.

Anyway, I recently teamed up with the iconic brand Belstaff, well known for their waxed leather bikers and recent collaborations with David Beckham. However this brand has certainly more than bikers up their sleeves, and this wrap skirt for instance might end up being one of my favourite staples, teamed up with an oversized turtleneck knit and sneakers come fall.

Drew I love You

Chloe Leather boots

The Chelsea boots is a wardrobe essential and comes in all variations every season, this time around I wouldn’t mind laying my hands on Chloe’s Drew model, the modern “Susanna” with less blingybling. (Starting from £640 and you’ll find it here.)

Statement Earring

If there’s one accessory I’ve been searching high and low for for months is the perfect single statement earring, as seen on Celine’s A/W 14-15 show back in March. These specimen above by Louis Vuitton and Celine tick all the boxes, and would possible dig deep holes in your pockets too, but wanted oh yes!

Summertime Sadness

Hedvig Opshaug 23.08.2014-1

Hedvig Opshaug 23.08.2014-2

We’re getting there slowly, that time of summer when it gradually changes, you feel it in the air, the flowers are not strutting as much as they did a month back, friends and family gatherings are calling for reality, and in London yellow leaves already started falling. One month too early in my opinion but luckily there’s still a few more exciting escapes on my agenda before it’s time to roll up those sleeves. For those of you who’s got no more trips left, bless, and may August still be fabulous!

Meanwhile, the little clothes I’ve been wearing lately when I haven’t enjoyed beach life can be summed up by these loose jeans and blingy sandals. MiH jeans (also here and here), top by Celine, sandals by Marni (also here), watch by Larsson & Jennings, Ray Ban’s.

Earthy colours

Picks 10.08.2014

I don’t know about you, but I find myself drawn towards everything but loud colours and screamy prints these days. Right now I wouldn’t mind adding more earthy tones to my wardrobe, and these are perfect elements for transitional dressing coming up soon.

August, I’m not sure what happened, but I guess losing track on time is a good sign when you’re holidaying, and that explains my absence here lately, amongst technical problems that resulted in several Mac-attacks for a while.

Well, I’m kicking off my August (and may it never end!) with my love for diamonds and personalised jewellery. As you may have noticed I’m a true fan of subtle pieces, and practically wear them every day, some which I never take off, same goes for my little girl. Though I’m a minimalist at heart my weakness are diamond pieces, and if I ever get close to over-accessorise I blame my love on them sparkling little things that I love combining with other special engraved pieces, #MYLOVE for those who might have noticed already.
Check out my latest collaboration with Monica Vinader here where I’m lined up with North-East-West and Central London girls.
Bisous

Being a knit-kinda-girl I’m super excited about all the fabulous knit options and statement pieces that will rule this coming fall and winter. Can we ever get enough of oversized long-sleeved soft turtlenecks, me think not, and I’m more than tempted to go for an all knitted set too, yum!
